That's with or without SP2? Also, how much RAM?

With this current system (in sig), IntelBurnTest proved that my 12hr Prime95-64bit stable system to be unstable within 2 minutes. I had to get the voltage to what I have now to get it stable.

I have the same problem. I can do 15 runs on IntelBurnTest without errors and fail Prime95 small fft in 15 minutes. Its happened before too. I have Vista x64 with 4gb of ram. IBT is obviosly very stressful. What could be the problem? I just bumped up my vcore and adjusted my GTLs and Ive been Prime stable for 1 hour.

Have you tried closing out of every app except the essentials and running 20 times using maximum stress? Many people found this to give the best results.

    #EDIT:
I just noticed how similar our systems are... It should work fine for you, as it did for me and many other people...

I did a 20 IBT run yesterday, all was fine... yet this morning small FFT's has failed at the 7 hour 52min...(and it failed at 8K lol) Will give the CPU some more Vcore to test today...
Os is WinXP Pro64 SP2 ( all updates done ), only program running in the background was Realtemp and the Panda antivirus... I have similar issues on both Dlx's with E8500/E8600 and the QX9650 (one mobo is on 0803, other one is at 1406)

EDIT: Passed OCCT 2 hour test (mix mode), upped Vcore to 1.25625 ,doing linpack run now (20 passes), then will do small FFT's again at 20K lowest value...

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Remeber that none of our rigs are 100% stable, even the memory stock will not be 100% error free.

My point exactly, that there's not such a thing as a bulletproof test program, though linpack has been very nice to me and errorred more rapidly then prime or co... now it's weird that linpack passes, yet prime small FFT ( so CPU only ) doesn't... bummer...

I can't run this program without a fail, i turn on error detection, i use option 1 for stress test (maximum stress) and then try to run said stree test five times...but every time i run it fails, and this is on default bios options with CPU/Memory and all voltage/bios options at default...and it still fails?

You finally managed to update to 1.8 and fix bugs as I stated before. Took long time from you.

hey m8 just the bare OS, with no windows update but SP2 is slipstreamed inside tho. It is 2GB ram I got and Intelburntest assigns 1743MB to it, however If I lower the vcore just a notch it will reboot my system in a instant :S

That's interesting. Did you manually check for errors, or did you use automatic? If you used auto, try it again with manual and see what you get.

Ill give that a shot. I need something to really stress my northbridge and ram. I usually like to run core temp real temp cpu-z and everest while stress testing.

Hey man, I am always doing manual checking myself, since it was a long list of 100numbers I checked like 3 times, eventho it should be seen clear if 1 number isnt matched with the other ones

If you're inexperienced, sure. But the downside is that if you have lots of runs, it'll take a while before you know it failed. If you turn that off, you get no error report, and you have to analyze the output data yourself and determine if it failed or not, but it instantly outputs as it goes.

Lovely stress test method! I like how it smooths out the cores (burn-in) alternating high stress with almost idle rests. Donation coming your way. Thank you!

    Thumbs up Feedback

I'm still doing some testing on this and quite frankly I didn't read the entire thread to see if this was already discussed so here's an interesting thing I found out:

The max stress IBT results are always more successful (passed) on my setup if I turn all the cpu options on my BIOS:

    CPU Feature

    Thermal Management Control: Enabled
    PPM(EIST) Mode: DEnabled
    Limit CPUID MaxVal: Disabled
    CIE Function: Enabled
    Execute Disable Bit: Enabled
    Virtualization Technology: Enabled
    Core Multi-Processing: Enabled

I also turn Vdroop control to ON so the processor vcore drops for a lower amount under full load.

I can't put a finger on it but that's my personal view with these couple of weeks using IBT, it's almost like the cpu works beter when that 'escape valve' is ON (OC'ed or Stock).
