you kidding right? you slap us in the face with 3.6ghz, then you ask us how to get high clocks stable when you should be telling us how you did it

You are some piece of work

btw all of us seem to have one or two excellent aspects combined with a couple bad ones, none of us have the perfect system where everything combines for an a more balanced result

well since 64 bit is giving me I crappy clock.
I think I'm going to get a another windows 32 bit XP/or Vista though.
    I'm leaning towards vista (crossfire X) I
t will be on it's own hard drive might get two or three drives.

I can actually run some benches in Win XP 64 at 3.4ghz. I which is my highest in Win XP 32. So far, the OCing is the same in both..no better, no worse..

150mhz isn't bad, 64 bit I could be losing about 400mhz maybe more. since I you ne4ed more volts for it.

You know I really dont see any positives going 64bit, i mean ive never really looked into it but from all the people who use it get, lower clocks, less support for games and much more buggy os

what actual improvement does it bring to the table?

Cinebench runs faster LOL...I know I have no real need for it personally, i just lik to see what differs when benching...i primarily use my XP 32bit. Although i do use the Vista 32 Home premium for my multimedia..it is on three systems. 2 are primary TV boxes. Never tried Vista 64. I have harder times getting stable OCs in Vist 32 then my Win XP 64..

Just upgraded to a phenom setup from a c2d and so far so good. Just did a quick test with the crummy stock cooler and have 2.8 stable so far. I did manage to get 3 to boot to windows but it bsods in games at default voltage. Definatly looking forward to playing with this one further.

What Chip were you running before? Glad to here you trying out a Phenom. This is the place to be, if help is what you need. I can get 3.0 no ACC stock v's. But anything else I found needs some ACC help and more voltage. Good luck and keep us posted...

I had a Q9300 and an X38 setup from before. Nothing wrong with it from a tech standpoint it worked flawlessly as does all intel stuff ive had in the past I simply wanted to transition to Deneb and get the most for my equipment that I could before the prices nosedive.

As for results I'm running it stock for now until this Xigmatek gets here, then Im shooting for 3ghz minimum

cool man. The deneb I think is going to be great IMO. I'm glad you're tying out AMD and once you get your Xigmatek keep us posted. We are here to help. What are your temps right now at stock v's? Maybe you can kick up the vcore a bit and stabilize at a higher clock with the stock cooler.

On stock cooler I did what I am now on water, no problem. Of course water runs lot cooler in my rig.

I am at 3.2 GHz for daily settings.

damn that is pretty high. Where do you live?

I live in Southern Florida so its really hott here. Room temp usually between 70-75ºF

I used to get about 38-40ºc idle, and 55-57ºc load more or less.

Now on water I get about 27ºc idle and 40ºc load, sometimes about 41-42ºc load.

    what buggy OS ?.....

it's more like old programs that don't want to run most will run fine with no problems.

anyways Grid seem put a huge load in 64 bit. when playing that game I've gotten higher temps then using core damage lol

64 bit can find an unstable overclock much quicker.

I have to agree with you on GRID. Why? I dont know, but it does put a heck of load on my rig under 64bit

While I wait for my heatsink I decided to try and atleast get the bus/ram where I want it in terms of overclock and Im having a hell of a time doing so. Anything past about 204 on the bus no matter what HT link speed I use results in no post.

Is phenom really touchy as far as high capacity ram is concerned because Im getting nowhere with this thing.
