LMAO!!! Yah, they do most of the time. I've found 2 week sprints are perfect. If I cruise the last 2 weeks power bills are almost acceptable. After 22 days I'll be on fumes and will shut down all but one rig. Even then... this race will cost at least $600. I should probably be spending my money on a Porsche Boxter lease. Somehow this seems more important.

To honor pre-race day there will be no mickey mouse last 24 hr ppd updates today...

Tomorrow a pre-race week points total for this past week will be posted (week0).

Then on monday the real deal updates start..
I will start posting a running cumulative weekly user totals for week 1 each day in a thread update.
at the end of week 1, the scorecard column for week 1 will be filled in and officially final http://www.scootplace.net/fah/XS/halloween/

same process for week 2,3, and 4. daily cumulative week user totals each day in a thread update. then a final score for the week in the scorecard.


main thing to remember is the updates for this race will be in a PPW (points per week format). whether it be a partial week for the daily thread updates or a full week final in the scorecard. there will be no more PPD (points per day) viewpoints. if you are interested in that, or a further analysis of a user, then visit the user page at EOC..

the chart I post tomorrow (week0) for this past weeks user points totals will give everyone a reference or goal to surpass during the comp.. that way you can strive to beat your pre-race week every week during the comp... for users like me that run 24/7 all machines all the time it wont really matter, since I'm always maxxed out. but for those that don't run full out, it will give you something to strive for to increase your points weeks during the comp. or for those that have wmd's being deployed for the comp, you can compare your actual comp weeks totals(weeks 1-4) to your pre race week total (week0).

Building a new pc or throwing another card in your current rig?

GT will go to gf's rig, probably will keep wcg running on that though, but I hope in two weeks or so tops to have two new cards for my own system. Not top of the line cards, but 3 cards instead of 1 will put me back in the game ( relatively speaking, with all the people pulling 50K or more it's a big hit to the ego to not oven get 10% of that ).

Ow and maybe I will get someone to run his ati card for me more often

Checked the budget, I can't afford a dedicated fah folder, well actually I could but I have to spread the purchases out over a longer time period and the real problem is that I don't like doing that. I usually spend my money on other things then, got a problem with saving up. If I quit smoking, that's like a dedicated folder every other month...

It's not Robin. It's the annual XS Holloween race and I've got the Batmobile entered. It's now multi-turbine. If I lost, I'd be the laughing stock of criminals everywhere.



The above are the additions since the last race.It's 2 Evga 9800 GX2s and 4 9800 GSOs. 2 of the 9800 GSOs have yet to be deployed. I spilled some water on the mobo last night while altering the water loop. I think I got it all. I'll let it continue to dry till tonight. All my PCIE slots are now populated with cards capable of 5K or more.

Not really. RoadRunner put up a 76K 24hr average last time. Figure in 10-15K for upgrades and this was maybe barely enough. We'll see.

Well I do run other DC projects for XS that help find cures, however I will at least keep the 5 VCs folding that is 25,000 PPD after the contest, maybe more...
