Thanks for your comments, feedback and support, Guys.

It feels great to finally have the site up and running and thanks to Nils, everything is working flawlessly. We’ve now shifted our focus to filling out the product line, especially the murderware section. Nils and I are very pleased with how things are going but there’s no time to rest – we’ve got orders to fill and new products to prepare!

We know some people are finding the prices higher than they may have anticipated. The truth is, we’ve chosen to enter the market with only the highest quality products and the pricing simply reflects that. Often times, when one goes about planning to extensively mod a case, they don’t take into account all the details and what they will cost. Invariably, when all is said and done, much more is spent than what was originally conceived. In the case of the murderMod TJ07, we provide not only the “canvas”, but also the details needed to help make the build look amazing. This way, one can focus on components, layout, and designing and assembling the LC loop(s); and not so much on the fear of dremelling off the end of a finger or catching a red-hot chunk of aluminum in the eyeball.

Obviously, murderMod isn’t for everyone – there are many Enthusiasts who choose to DIY and that’s great. What we offer are products for people with uncompromising standards and choose not to do some of the mod work themselves; or to hunt down and locate local fab shops that may or may not produce parts they’re happy with. You know how the saying goes: “if you want something done right, you’ve got to do it yourself”. Well, we live by this ideal and ultimately that’s what murderMod is all about. You don’t have to do it yourself – we can do it for you, and we’re confident you’ll be happy with the results. Wow, that sounded like marketing speak, but I don’t know how else to say it.

Some people have voiced concerns over the European shop pricing in comparison to the Canadian pricing. We did exhaustive analysis in this area and concluded that the two shop system we have in place, is the most practical and cost effective solution for our Customers. It wouldn’t be cheaper for someone in say, the UK to buy from the Canadian shop despite how it may appear on the surface. There are many factors that converge to make it a cut and dry case for having two distinct shops. For one, shipping from Canada to the UK for a murderMod TJ07 would be $328 and that’s using the custom box and packaging we’ve developed and not the massively huge, original TJ07 box. That sucker would make it well over $400! Another factor is that you’d still have to pay applicable taxes and likely import duty, depending on where you live. In the case of the European shop, the taxes are already included in the price as by law. If you lived in the UK and bought from the Canadian shop, you’d still have to pay the 17.5% VAT. What isn’t even close in the analysis is the cost incurred in the event of a return – this alone tips the scale dramatically towards the need for a European store for our European Customers.

Sorry for the long, rambling post – I assume that if you got this far, you were interested in this stuff and I hope I’ve addressed some of your concerns; now I’ll get back to work.

    Cheers All.

Nice of you to take the time to answer everyone's questions and congrats on the site, it looks fantastic.
I see that some parts are not available till the 23rd on the EU site, so I will look forward to you getting your stock levels built up.

Do you know if the murderWare kits will be available then as well ?

    hi charles,

the homepage is amazing. it has a verry light and easy design. looks wonderful.
about the prices... they look expensive on first sight but after building about half a year on my own project to get to a point where i´m 95% agree with it just from the design i can absolutly understand those prices. the murdermod looks to me like a 100% perfect case and we all know ... 90% is easy, 98% is very hard, but 100% is almost impossible to reach.

I just saw some pics of this thing, and thought it would look GREAT in a future murderbox. Give it some thought, Charles.

It's the newest upcoming Foxconn X58 MB, called "Blood Rage". Excellent color scheme, and it just screams: "Murder Me!" It might be the next board to go inside my murderMod.

    Thanks for the comments Guys!

The positive support and feedback we've received has been overwhelming. You guys are amazing and really motivate us to keep working our butts off to get the site filled ASAP.

Hey Tox, the MDPC-X sleeving shipment from Nils is a few days overdue - hopefully it will be here early next week. When it arrives, I'll put the packs together, take some product photos and get them to Nils so he can do his magic on the website. Unfortunately, I have to return the camera I've been borrowing the past 6 months; I'll have to beg/steal/borrow another one.

I was going to make a joke about the high class stripper comment that involved a Champagne Room, nipple tassels, and a G-string but decided against it.

I mean who needs that mental image; amiright.

Thank you Tremeloes! Nils deserves ALL the credit for the website; I'm so pleased with what he's created.

I must say that you have raised the bar for photography with your recent masterpiece showcased on Million Dollar PC. Congratulation, your work is a huge inspiration!

The metal serpentine topgrill is a very good idea - I will put that on my short list for prototyping; cheers!

The fully modded and equipped Murdermod TJ-07 case leaves the competition way behind. The things I like the Murdermod TJ-07 case is the impeccable execution of the add-on parts coupled with an excellent execution.

Quick question about the clean midplate with regards to tubing routing. I notice that the hole is quite a bit smaller (or at least it looks smaller) than the one that comes with the standard tj07. Is there still space to route tubing to potentially two rads in the bottom section of the tj07?

you would have to cut your own holes to route the tubing

Agreed but this is only true if you live in the EU. A lot of the members here are Australian (I'm South African) and we dont really see any benefit of having to order from the EU shop opposed to the CAD shop except that it is significantly more expensive. Would you consider allowing those outside of the EU, US, CAD to choose their dispatching shop?

Hey cobra_kai; (love that name btw), as Dangals say's, the clean midplate is designed for you to drill your own tubing holes. The idea was to keep the midplate looking "clean" since you see it though the side window and I'm not a fan of the big 'ol generic openings of the original midplate.

    Hey Jim,

As you may know, Australia and New Zealand are already routed to the Canadian store. Nils and I are still sorting out our respective regions, we're planning on making some modifications in the coming days. Thanks for the feedback Jim, please stay tuned.

Jim Morbid: If you live outside the EU, then 19% go off of the price. During Checkout you would then see 813€ instead of 995€. Because the Shop is based in Germany, by law I have to show ("including 19%") when you are not logged in and the shop does not know where you are from.

Anyways as Charles said: Our goal is to provide the best options for everyone and therefore we will look over this again

For '"the big thing" it might be cheaper at the moment because of currency-strenghts and weaknesses. On the other hand for small items that will come up there might be an advantage for the EU if you are from SA. For "the big thing" you can always send us a personal mail until we have figured out all the currency- and shipping-related issues for all countries. Just get in touch with us

Thanks DB, I've been chatting to Charles about this. Looking at this exchange rate it might be cheaper to build a steal mill and pull the materials from the earth here as long as I'm paying in ZAR and not EUR/CAD/USD :P

Today has truly been a horror forex wise :''/

Unrelated (and I asked this of Charles via PM but I thought I would also ask it here for the record): Looking at my TJ's midplate there are a lot of bent pieces and holes on it that I cant really make out on the MM midplate. Is the MM plate a 'snap-on' part in the sense that nothing else needs to be modd'ed to accommodate the midplate?

Also can we order any mods to the mid plates? I'm thinking WC holes and powder coating?

    Thanks guys,

    Hello Jim

The midplate is a true snap on part. Nothing needs to be modified. Just put it on top of the original midplate (you will see it can be just placed in one way and in exactly one position), drill holes for the supplied rivets (black ones are provided), then rivet both plates together. I have a few matte-black powder coated mid- and backplates here at the moment. After this weekend, when we do an update, all this should be covered. For everything except the complete case, it will not be any problem shipping to you to SA. Actually it is very cheap an quick in my opinion: shipping is 14.05 EURO for all three parts (backplate, midplate, top-plate).

About pre-drilled holes in the murderMod midplate, Charles can tell you more. What I can say about it: In any case you still would need to drill the tube-diameter-hole into the original midplate. I would recommend to drill the midplate yourself too then, because then you have everything at the right spot. To cover the cut, the rubber-grommets are the perfect solution. To drill the holes, a step-drill is the right tool. You can possibly get one for a day from a local mechanic or tool-shop, if you don't own one.

We have also updated the TJ07 description text - we provide a contact link in the murderMod TJ07 description on both stores in order to better figure out the best solution depending on where you live. I think it is also desirable for you to get in personal contact instead of simply dropping such a case into a cart. Then we can find out the best solution, if you get it from Charles in Canada or me in Europe. It is our major interest, that everyone gets the best possible price. Thank you for pointing us to this issue - your help was really appreciated.

Additionally the European price was adjusted as much as possible so that there is no more relevant currency discrepancy if you order from Canada to Europe or from Europe to Europe. Thanks to Henry8601 and r4gm4n from the UK for your input on this matter. Now any significant price differences for European citizens should be solved (depending on daily exchange rates) when import VAT and shipping cost are added in the whole calculation.

For any questions, just drop a mail to Charles or me.

    Nils

    Hey Nils =)

    Long time no see!!!

Does this shipping take affect when you do the update in the coming days?

Because even when I add the backplate to my card, the cheapest shipping is 65CAD =$77AUD.

(P.S. I hope this is your fast "trick" postage :-) )

I know I'm not Nils but since it's my doing, I'll respond; I forgot to enable one of the shipping methods for Australia!

If you check again, you'll find an option that will be about $30. Thanks for pointing this out James!
