heh, 200$ is nothing man, before the prices went down like crazy people spent 500$ for theese kind of high end kits but yeah it sucks...

im sure you can get an rma from team tho

I can't belive that u can do only this with those memory
I think you've to test them on a different setup, with 2.5 you must do at least 700Mhz cas 5-5-5-15
    Duck with 2.65v closed spi1m at 660Mhz cas 4-4-4-4!!!

    Holy thread resurrection batman.

Those results are nothing short of weird, and the timings are absolutely whack. The OP needs a ram overclocking lesson. 5-4-4-5/4-4-4-20/4-3-3-14?

Well over 1300 should have been easily achievable with those sticks and voltages.

These are my Team 8500's at 2.29v (real - DMM measured)

I don't blame you at all, I'm actually glad you dragged it up. I read through the results in disbelief, I expected someone to get awesome results with them. I think they would be capable of it, but the OP simply didn't know what to do with them.

Too bad TeamGroup are not responding to correspondence regarding RMA's anymore; apart from being against the law to disregard a warranty, it's once less company to provide competition. Oh well, they'll just lose a lot of money, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone doesn't start a class action against them.

That's a pretty nice OC on the memory there, what was the BIOS voltage set at? My CellShock 8000 CAS5 can't clock anywhere near that high; of my Dominator 6400C3, Ballistix 8500 16FD5, and Reaper 8500s, which do you think has the best chance? I plan on testing em all, but just asking

    How did you contact them?

I sent an RMA request along with the form you have to fill out and sent them to rma@teamresearchinc.com and if that doesnt work I just go on their official rma forums http://www.teamgroup.com.tw/forums/

already RMA'd two kits and the recent one was back in the end of May, I know that the next time these kits die I'll go for something else but its worth a try if you want to RMA

Cheers. I set 2.22v in bios, my board overvolts by 0.07v from the bios set value. I always measure vdimm with my dmm though so I know what i'm giving them.

As for your ram, I'd say the FD5's would probably have the best chance, but the 6400 C3 kit may do quite well too, same with the Reapers if they are the D9 based model. Really just depends how good the IC's are on each set though. All D9 GMH & GKX should hit 1300+ CAS 5 under 2.4v, but the GKX *usually* overclocks better than the GMH on CAS 4.

If I were you i'd test them all on a reasonable voltage, like 2.3v max, and use the best kit as your OC'ing kit, and baby the rest as your 24/7 kits. However, sometimes a kit that performs the worst at low voltage may keep scaling all the way to and past 3.0v, whereas the 'better' low voltage clocking kits stop scaling so well after a certain point.

It's just trial and error. Good luck, sounds like you're going to have some fun, be sure to make a thread showing the results

I haven't personally needed to yet, my kits are relatively new, but no one's emails have been replied to in recent months - even if you look at the TG forums, it appears no one's requests are being replied to.

My bet is Ballistixs, then Dominators and then Reapers.

i just got a set - to see i can get higher fsb on fsb limited EP45 Extreme http://i4memory.com/93997-post6.html

EP45 Extreme board needs probably 0.1v more vdimm for my D9GMH kits than Asus/DFI boards

Not sure what you mean mate? Do you mean at stock 1066MHz or max overclock voltage? Stock 1066 CAS 5 is stable at 1.96v, but I run mine 24/7 at 1113 CAS 5 @ 2.07v (still testing could probably lower the voltage more), they do DDR 1186 CAS 5 @ 2.15v, DDR 1100 CAS 4 at 2.26v, and will do DDR 1333 at 2.29v. I haven't had a lot of time to test yet though.

Those PC8500 CAS 4 look nice! They should have a lot of potential for sure. The GKX sticks would also be nice, you're lucky to have access to them. Please post your results if you get them i'd love to see what they're capable of.

Nice eva, 32M stable 1308. What voltage (real) was that at? 2.6v? I am in awe of you ram clocking abilities, so I look forward to you pushing them to their limits. Do you intend to try them out on a better ram clocking board? If so please post the results, I'd like to see what they can do in the hands of a pro

Here's a quick 1M run & everest on mine at DDR 1317 @ 2.29v (real). Everest bandwidth is bad, I was using a low FSB to just test the ram.

Did you buy the last kit from MemoryC? I just ordered their last Team 1200 kit, not sure if they will be able to restock either.

Thanks, yeah will try them on a better clocking board later, still have DFI UT X48-T2R and DFI DK X48-T2RBS Plus to play with soon - need to find a nice DDR2 board for 2x2GB DDR2 testing

real volts well 2.58v set in bios - everest reports ~0.03v more than bios set for Gigabyte EP45 Extreme.

Awesome, I look forward to the results. I'll keep an eye out here and at i4memory

Those boards should do pretty well with them I would imagine, perhaps as you suggested at a lower voltage than the Gigabyte requires. ~2.6v is scary high for ~DDR 1300.

I'd like to know what luck you have with finding a nice 2 x 2GB kit, I have seen some promising results with some hitting ~600 CAS 5 at ~2.0v. I think they were powerchip based GSKILL PC 9600's IIRC.

nope as soon as the set died on me I was lucky enough to get newegg to replace them but after I got the replacement set I did not bother overclocking the ram past bin spec at the cost of the hassle of an RMA.

But aside from that, the replacement set has been really horrible performance wise and cannot even achieve bin spec on the same board I was using to test and also a 780i by evga.

Team group really dropped the ball on this one....

as far as the overclocking of the original set, for those of you just seeing this thread as of 09/2008, well you should know the pair of ram I had performed really weird granted I used a P45 instead I probably would have killed the ram earlier than I did using the evga 680i as I feel as the consistency was best on this board.

p.s CryptiK the ram I have is not the same ram you have... DDR2 not same as DDR3

on the 680i i had successfull game sessions and many posts at 1300mhz bin spec.... i just wished the ram was more tolerant to voltage alterations in the dozens or so through the course of a week or month playing around with latency timings ie. CL3 , CL4

im running them on a p45 gigabyte board. The memory is very versitile, i managed to get 4-4-4-12 at 1125, 2.40v. Do you know anywhere besides memoryc.com that you can purchase this kit ?.
