Look at the memory, 3-phase! 8 or 10 phase on the CPU. Idk how many on the NB.

I like it, but I don't like the chipset cooler. Can't they just use separate coolers on the NB and SB?

What tier motherboards would evga be considered? Have they increased their quality since the 680s?

If 790i was $350 or so, this will be at least as much. Of course, the cost of the chipset is probably $50+ less, but even so...

tho evga enthusiast boards (790 FTW for example) are cheaper than reference models, how ironic isn't?

What do you mean by power plugin?

The round things are PWRSW and RESETSW buttons.

I only see the 24-pin ATX main power connector. Is the 8-pin ATX 12V power connector hidden by the angle of the image?

i would give them a fresh start so long as there arnt NV chipsets, those were the problems before not the evga support

and are the enough ways to clear the cmos on that board there is a jumper 2 buttons, and im sure that they have power/reset clears on front panel and board buttons

I like this board, now that they dumped the NV chipsets I can go back to the vendor I who treated me so well when the 680i did not.

however, I will not buy this board, maybe the second or third Intel based board they release

I smell a super system in the works, Think about it, a Geforce GTX 280 FTW + 2 x 4870x2 in CrossfireX or 2 x GTX 280 in SLi and a 4870x2 or something. That will be one hell of system.

I love Evga's support, it's top notch, but I'll have to see the final release of this board. This version just looks...... kinda cheap.... and thrown together in a hurry.

In answer to that, Foreplay preview:

    http://tw.youtube.com/watch?v=bzvgsI43iFQ

    Better Quality:

    http://resources.vr-zone.com/Shamino/evgatest.wmv

    2.16v Vcore @ 200 Amps -> 432w Continous, 1,000KHz PWM Frequency:
Typical Analog 300-400KHz, Typical Digital 800KHz…

Take note that only small ramsink on Mosfets, @ that kind of CPU load/heat you will be on LN2 and Temps will be much lower.

so then it uses the volterra chips with 1mhz switching?
at any rate, sounds like a stiff board.
