Don't you remember all the Q6600's burning up the digital circuits in the 965/975 days? There were boards with digital circuits from foxconn, abit, and DFI that had users posting pics of burn marks on thier mobos when extreme clocking quads.

Hell out of all the 975/965 boards the Abit 975 had the best power circuit around.. most stable and coolest running, you know what it was? 4 phase analog!

Doesn't matter what the power circiut is as long as it has been designed properly.
I guess, although I would cite the EVGA 790i FTW analogue vs digital as an example that, in general, digital circuits tend to perform better.
