Gonna sell my DFI board later this month and hopefully get this board soon after. I've always had good luck with Gigabyte boards, don't know why.

OT: Gar, is that a picture of you in your avatar?

Got it a couple days ago, still waiting on my E8400 E0 though. One thing I found out is that a Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer will not fit vertically so the fan can blow the hot air out the back of the case. It did, however, fit horizontally so since I have a Antec 300 I'm in luck haha.

Well, I finally got around to installing this board. Here is my setup:

    e8400
    2 x WD 3200AAKS Sata2 drives
    1 x WD 2500KS Sata drive
    Radeon X1900XT 512mb
    4 x 1GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-6400 DDR2-800
    Thermaltake 750W gamers PSU

    Pros:
    * lots of connectivity...tons of Sata and USB slots
    * Layout and components are top notch
    * BIOS is, as usual, fairly easy to follow
    * IDE and AHCI mode working perfectly fine with Vista, unlike most Asus P5Q boards ( see this thread )

    cons:
    * S3 sleep mode does NOT work, as with most P35 and now P45 giga boards. I've upped Voltages with no good results yet. I'm gonna try to disable Load Line Calibration and see if that works (according to this article)
    * Vdroop is more prevalent than on the P5Q series Asus boards. Not a big deal as you can always bump the power, but still.
    * the front panel audio connecter is located in the most assinine location!

If I can solve the S3 sleep mode in Vista on this board, I'm hoping to keep it...it is a very good board.

    4x1GB Crucial Ballistix PC6400 DDR2-800 @ 5-5-5-18 1:1
    Sapphire Radeon X1900XT @ 690/792 3D
    2 x 320Gb WD SATA for apps/data
    1 x 320Gb WD SATA for backup
    Scythe Infinity Heatsink
    700W Thermaltake Toughpower PSU

Haven't bought any GA mobo for a long time for this reason alone, why can't they learn to write a proper BIOS with functional S3 till now?

My recently bought super cheap low end Biostar G31 mobo does S3 just fine even when o'ced.

When somebody gets a chance if possible can they post up their bios settings for High FSB overclocks? Bench settings and 24/7? I know every system is different but it couldn't hurt to have something to compare to.

This board does not like my memory, and likes it less then my P965 board that I replaced it with. With the Abit AB9 Quad GT I was stable at 456x9 and tested stable to about 461x9. This board starts rebooting while I am playing with bios settings at FSB 449. Below that its 100% stable so far.

Right now I am leaving Orthos small FFTs on for the night (2 hours now and still going with the following)

    4005mhz (445x9)

Vcore: 1.256 -Vdrrop drops me to 1.184 and LLC is off
    Cpu PLL 1.5
    CPU Termination: 1.10
    Mch 1.05

That's some nice low volts for that speed. I will need better memory to go higher it looks like. I tried everything to get stable at over 449 FSB. I lowered the multi to 6x, Mch 1.60, timings 7-7-7-20, Performance level 10, Trfc 68 and over-volted the Vdimms from 2.1 a few steps up. Nothing would do it for me. Couldn't get past post and when I did memtest86 would flood errors right away.

Anybody know good memory that could get me higher FSB then the Gskill PC2-8000's 2x2GB in my sig?

I got my board yesterday and popped in my QX6850 and zipped it up to 500fsb with just a few settings,.
    I think this is going to be a fun board. QX6850 - 4Ghz @ 503fsb @ 1.4v after a few tweaks, i can't wait till i get some time
    plus my Q9650.
