Measure the IHS with a k-type probe. If you are testing with Core Temp then there's a good chance your diode is reading all whack. Mine reads 17C and 19C on the cores at stock and idle in a ~30C ambient room but reads 85C with 1.35v at 4500MHz IHS was only around 50C if I remember correctly, need to find the sheet of results.
