Shanghai launch pulled forward to Mid-October, Model Numbers and info!

I'll sort it out later, when I have time for Photoshop or OpenOffice.

Even numbers = HT1.0, Odd numbers = Newer Shanghais, HT3.0. They will come with the SR5600 Chipset in Q209.

No, Deneb is still a 2009 affair, officially.
We might see it being pulled earlier if volume is great, but no guarantees.

Looks like AMD's 45nm transition will be faster and smoother.

    Macadamia,thanks for posting this

Good news for server division at last. 2.7Ghz should be on the market in a month time frame, and should be a good 20-25% faster(IPC+clock) than the fastest 2.5Ghz Barcelona while consuming less power.

I guess Deneb could be pulled-in in December time frame. It all depends on the yield of 2.8/3Ghz parts. If it's good than we may have some Deneb lovin' at the end of the year.Couple that lil hammer with SB750 board and 4Ghz could be reachable on air with reasonable Vcore adjustment [and @ 4Ghz ,it would be a tough nut to crack,be it York or Core i7,while costing less and supporting both DDR standards!]

PS careful with the "faster and smoother" key word usage .Some people don't like those words used in the same paragraph with the word Phenom .And we don't want them to come here with the "smoother anti-comments" j/k

there is a December Deneb two of them. A 2.8ghz and 3.0ghz, for AM2+.

the rest all for AM3. they the chips will be out before the new 790FXsb800 motherboards.

looks like AMD found the high speed train rail. and didn't derail but got shifted to a speed we couldn't see coming lol

I wouldn't say more than 15% increase though, even with the L3. If there's anything that makes civil discussion possible, it's modesty. :p

AMD however has nicely played to their strength in virtualization and sped it up even faster. Which is a good choice when the core logic can't change too much in a short timeframe.

Well i figured the clock speed increase too .Should be a good deal (especially in VT) faster than current Barcelonas and power consumption/temperatures should be way better too.

When are they going to start these new Opterons?

Maybe on the upcoming Formula1 weekend in Shanghai?

Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.

Yes it will be AM3 only. Maybe they will rename the RD790(790FX) to 870 (or something like that) on AM3 platfrom. I think it would be a good step. And the RD890 would be the 890FX, the RS880 is the 880G and 890GX.

Have there been any leaked benchmark results for Shanghai/Deneb?

Those look interesting and promising if 1.5 volts for 3.6 from a 2.3 if real and safe to do. The 1.376 for 3.0 from 2.3 doesn't seem all that bad either.

Can't wait to see what the 2.8 and 3.0's can do.

Unfortunately there aren't any deneb benches yet, toppc only benched an x2 and x3 But since he posted some screens of his denebs oc'ed I'm quite sure there will soon be some benches too

I should read the thread better next time before I jump and claim something which isn't there to begin with

Nah,it's not your fault. There are a lot of results with K8 and K10 and since NDA is still in place and the OP is MSI engineer he must be careful what he posts(no benchmark results with 45nm,although he posted some great OC results with his C0 and C1 samples)

can only confirm the posted information :d

the launch of ht3 is still vague, might be q2 but can also be earlier, they only need the chipset part to start launching in 2009.

regarding the performance, don't forget the ddr2 800 support, will also add to the improvement.

and yes a 2,7-2,8 GHZ launch will flush the intel part completely in virtualization for 2s since you need an additional 15% clock from intel for the same amd performance for sure on 4s where 2,3ghz is already as fast as 2,93 tiger. Only thing that remains is that new "not real cheap" dunnington.

I know but he mentioned a new cpu-z and the volts weren't showing unrealistically high like they did before with 1.6+ at lower clocks.

So it seemed more plausible to me.
