Awesome there lad!! Good to see that chip rolling again ...

I've had a few quirks with overclocking ... I guess i've been trying to get back to the 3.8Ghz stable with lower volts then I was using before, but it's not working out - which is ok - it's still working out with my previous set of values that I had been using for months.

    Performance? Ram? Stability?
They have ironed out all ty CME option bugs with all cores as far as I know. If you have a 9450,, or alike now you can use the newest revision BIOS being the 1406 ofcourse.

@ mac: Set CME to performance, this is supposed to be the best for us then I think if that doesn't work you are having voltage instabilities some where.

@ Luci5r: Woot I'm back.. I got my new Video Card in last night and scored a 10890~ in 3DMark Vantage.. I did not get much sleep last night like 4 and a half hours tops I'm thinking and man is my brain cloudy.. I wll mess with it more tonight. I actually had to bump my vltage up a little as well as a side note adding to what you was saying with trying to get yours lower. You might be able to play with your gtl settings and manage to get it lower if you feel like messing with it for hours on end probably. I had to bump mine up to 1.27xx.

So i assume its now actually working in native AHCI mode (with included NCQ support). Because all those IDE and ATA modes seem to be some sort of compatibility emulations of native SATA drives.

Also pay attention to "Disk drives" branch. They don't have "ATA" appended anymore! Wooohoooo!

    EDIT:
Just tested with HD tach. CPU utilization is 0% , sustained speed went up for 20MB/s. ENd drive speed is still pretty much the same.
It seems CPU utilization went down significantly and system itself seems to be much more responsive
    I like this a lot
Thanks for the info mate. I just did the same thing it did the trick

CPU GTL Voltage Reference (0/2): 0.670

    0/2 = Core number 0 and 2 ?
    1/3 = Core number 1 and 3 ?

0.670 on both will put the same amount of voltage on every core?

The core2 from my Q6600 (core0/core1/core2/core3) gets constant error in prime95 and i always need to raise up the vcore to get that core stable, although i think the others core0,1 and 3 they all are pretty stable with lower vcore value.

I have move the GTL VR (0/2) from 0.630 to 0.670, and it seems i can get more overclock with less vcore. Is it ok? changing from 0.630 to 0.670 will not kill my cpu?
0/2 & 1/3 have nothing to do with the individual cores. They denote BCCLK 0/2 & 1/3. Raising it to 0.67x is fine just keep your Vtt under 1.4v. You want to aim for a target Vref of between around 0.8 - 1.0v.

GTL Ref (the multiplier eg 0.67x) x Vtt = Vref

Is anyone running Q9450 @ 3.x @ 1.37v or higher for 24/7 setup ? I just wanna verify if that's ok to go above for 24/7 official VID voltage range 1.3625V

I would run a bit lower than that voltage for 24/7, atleast if you want use your chip until its must to upgrade (2-4y) You should really consider using lower volts!

There is many many views about this this is just my opinion!

I say it depends on your temps mate. How hot is it running under that voltage. I would think it would be hot.. If it is not so bad then go for it. Also have you tried my gtl settings and what not yet? They might let you drop your voltage more like mine.. I think if any one tinkers enough they can get their voltage down a little with the gtl settings at just the right spot.

VTT from CPU or Northbridge? if its from ...

    northbridge:

    Overclocked:
    1.26 x 0.63 = 0.7938
    1.26 x 0.67 = 0.8442

    Default:
    1.20 x 0.63 = 0.756
    1.20 x 0.67 = 0.804

    CPU:

    Overclocked:
    1.3625 x 0.63 = 0.858375
    1.3625 x 0.67 = 0.912875

    Default:
    1.325 x 0.63 = 0.83475
    1.325 x 0.67 = 0.88775

i will search more about this... Thank you ..again!

That seems ok to me.. I would try to mess with your gtls like I said though and try to get lower but, those temps look good IMO. That is about what I get.. hell that is better then what I get. I get like well then again, I bet you have your tref set to 95 and that is why it is lower then mine you are getting about the same as me tempo wis if this holds true. You are fine mate try to get volts down by messing with gtl settings like said and you will be fine with those temps..

Vtt is another name for vFSB, so work it out using what you set for vFSB, and aim for around 0.8v first, then experiment to see what works best for you.

I have mines set to vFSB 1.22 and my GTLs set to .63 which equals .7686 and my shiznit loves this spot. I need to try to tweak the settings more for the fun of it and see if I can get my CPUv down even lower. Also yes that is what I meant was his tj max yes "sorry" . Long night last night, good one though..

Yeah and it will because if you have them both set to 100 then they are both reading correctly. I think he was just saying that they address this in the newer one by default that's all. You are really fine though with the temps mate. Just tweak her out and get them as low as possible and anything you get lower will be a plus as you are ok already , you know what I mean..

GTL Ref (the multiplier eg 0.67x) x Vtt = Vref
I do not doubt your knowledge and appreciate all the help you have been, However, as quoted above you state that 0/2 and 1/3 have nothing to do with individual cores... Much as I hate to, I disagree.

If I run Prime95 blend, and change 0/2 GTL's on purpose to be out of spec, Workers 1 and 2, 1 or the other will fail. So, if what you say is in fact true, how can this be? Perhaps it is my ignorance to the matter, but I adjusted my GTL's by using the assumption that 0/2 related to Workers 1 and 2 and 1/3 related to Worker 3 and 4.

    Please explain if you would.
