    i REALLY need to know what it is that my e8600 wants/needs voltage wise to get it past 5.2ghz but no one will tell me. i've tried just about everything i can think of and it's just not stable. my temps are still really good and i know this chip will go further but the settings are holding me back.

    5.2? What voltages are you using right now?

    520 x 10?

    Vcore
    PLL
    FSB
    NB
    SB

    500 x 10

    Vcore = 1.44375
    PLL = 1.54
    FSB = 1.46
    NB = 1.44
    SB = 1.3(1.4 with 2x2's in)

    gtls on auto
    clk skews on auto(doesnt seem to make any difference)
    this is not 3dmark stable at all but it doesnt BSOD. it just pauses in the cpu test... not freeze though. just pause.

    Cool. What kind of temps are you getting?

    I'll give that a shot.

    1306 seems to run my ram the best. the 1406 bios seems to hate my chip/ram

    8-7-6-21 @ 2000mhz runs pretty well at 2.04v

    I have the same ram. I can run 8-8-7-18 @ 1800 2.0 V and of course the stock 7-7-7-18 @ 1600 1.9V

    I've tried running at 2000 and can't get it to post.

    Btw, for that 2000 MHz ram, what was your VDimm?

    I assume that you are on cooling better than water with your temps.

    maybe I'll go try the 1306 bios as well. I am using 1406 atm.

    I see you posted this.

    Vcore = 1.44375
    PLL = 1.54
    FSB = 1.46
    NB = 1.44
    SB = 1.3(1.4 with 2x2's in)

    Are these the values you used for that 2000 MHz ram?

    Oh!!! Well, I only have 2 sets and I don't feel right RMAing any of them because they do run at their 1600 rated FSB. They even run at 1800MHz, so I'll try again but I'll just have to suck it up.

    This is a mainstream chipset that's still in a teething stage, BIOS is only just starting to become mature. Don't know why people are so obsessed with 5Ghz or 600 fsb, to download p0rn faster?...lol. I'm getting this mobo this week and despite all the negativity here I'm quietly confident it will make a very suitable 24/7 rig, with some casual gaming. If you want to do intelligent overclocking it should be alright I think, if you want to destroy your cpu and memory other mobos like Blackops will help you achieve that quicker than this board. Another thing I've noticed is that there don't seem to be too many complaints from people using quality memory like Cellshock, which is what I intend to use. Anyway, I'll try to have my system up and running ASAP to finally start contributing some screenie's based on my experiences.

    Try using google, or check OCZ forums, they should have some profiles there for your specific sticks, or a workaround if you're lucky.

    I was working on this OC and am happy with it so far. I still need to work on tightening up the voltages a bit, but here it is. Sorry for the trial version of Everest, but I've tried paying with paypal and my cc and they had issues with both of those.

    I am building a new machine, and the P5Q3-Deluxe and P5E3-Deluxe (X38) is the only mainboards with DDR3 avaliable where i live, to ddr2 i have rampage and many others. (memory will be a no brand ddr3 1333 for a while for ddr3, or a Gskill PC8500 DDR2).

    Is the P5Q3-Deluxe a good mainboard to use with a Q9550 E0 ? I plan to use it at 4ghz maximum, 24/7.

    ...

    And asking, is the Evga 780i Sli Ultra a good mainboard to use it with Q9550 ? Because i have this mainboard easiser than any others.

    I will apreciate a answear.

    Thanks.

    You will better go for the P5Q3 Deluxe then.

    Quad works better on P45 as on X38.

    And the 780i ultra gets very hot.

    I agree.

    I have on a 2nd machine,

    P5Q3 Deluxe/Wifi
    Q9550 C0
    2 x 2 GB Gskill 7-7-7-18 1.9V HZ mem.
    Xigmatek S-1283

    I am running that at (450 x 8.5) 3.825 at the moment.

    Memory is running at 1800 MHz @ 8-8-8-21 2.04V

    I have not tweaked the system yet, so I'm sure I can probably get more out of it.

    with a Q9550 E0, you should be able to hit 4GHz+ easily with good air cooling.

    P45 is the way to go if you really want to OC a quad.
