Try cutting the number of posts you list per page down to the minimum and see if you get it.
It seems that it is giving you a sideways scrolling area that is equal to the widest graphic
(+ user id, avatar, box). Fewer posts per page will limit the length of time you have to deal
with it. Can't wrap graphics, so unless you can run 1080p on your monitor without a magnifying glass . . .

    I fix this page ferya

it's not jacked up, it's just resizing te forum table to the size the content is using. no one is getting ripped out of content and no buttons and funnctons are not working. the table width is just downsizing to the content. my little jpg stretched this pages table to full page width for a 1280 screen (my monitor)..

Happens to me too. When I loaded this page for example, it stayed there for a few fractions of a second before it then jumped to full size.

I think this is the foundation for later advertising. It's actually a very good solution, using unused estate for ads. As long as posts still is in full width there is no negative impact on experience.

Maybe... but I wouldn't mind not having horizontal scroll bars in my browser window when it's not needed. I first thought it was my monitor, as since yesterday my pc thinks it's an analog screen with 1600*1200 res instead of 1680*1050 lcd Nvidia
s driverupdate from windows update caused that, rolling back didn't restore it so now I'm using user defined res (1680-1050 as native to my lcd).

I can read everything without having to squint to much but it still doesn't look right.

What I found out is that the page is as wide as the 'amount of active users' bar at the bottom of the page. In other words, the more users viewing a certain section, the wider the pages are.

That doesn't look like advertising space to me

EDIT: this is both on my lappy and my workstation. Both systems run FF3 and Vista x64.

    Getting this also

    Vista HP 32 IE7.

Happens occasionally, but the blanks are only ever ad size spaces.

Just now as I hit this reply page, the frame has loaded too wide. About 1/4 too wide.

I think it's actually that the page gets wide enough to accomodate the longest post then in the thread? Threads with really short posts are super tiny whereas threads with posts that have enough text to wraparound seem maxed out. (Firefox)

I set the number of posts per page to 5 in the CP and I'm having no problem. If I go back a page, then the graphic Mikeb12 posted forces scrolling since my resolution is less than 1920x1080 - its 1024x768. Try it.

Some stuff for me is just completely jacked up... as in the forum is like 75% size, has a massive empty space down the right side.. future ads pending? That would be pretty gay..

Does it to me. Browser, settings, and OS don't make a difference as it does it on Vista, XP, 2000 (yeah we use 2000 at work ), IE6, IE7, firefox - doesn't matter what combo, it does it, and randomly at that. Same thread or subforum can be opened a few different times and be a different size each time.

FUGGER, if you recently had a side bar like plugin/addon installed in vBulletin, disable or uninstall that plugin and then revert to default the template for forumdisplay. Looks very similar to a plugin I installed for my forums, which lets me choose which forum sections (forumhome, forumdisplay, search, user cp etc) to display a right or left or right + left side bar column.

    idd.

the news forum for example always stays at full size, but e.g. all of the hardware forums are squeezed.

*edit* nvm, seems like the problems vanished as of today
