    Hi!

I wondered how much performance increase has people achieved using this tool and the seetings/hardware involved.
Maybe you can also add ATI clock seetings or AMD Fusion ones.

I have noticed a 12% performance increase with my Phenom 9550 on amd overdrive test by setting the HTT bus to 220Mmhz, however I don't know if this clocks values could be consider safe or not.
AMD should provide more information about overclocking it's hardware, things to take care, etc.

    greetings!

I just replaced my X2 5200+ with a Phenom 9850BE on my Gigabyte MA790FX-DS5 and I've noticed some strange issues.

After raising the multiplier the computer runs faster, as it should. CPU-Z reports the correct speed but other software doesn't. CoreTemp for example reports 2.5 GHz with a lowered fsb rate times the multiplier I've set. 3DMark06 also reports it as 2.5 GHz even if I've run it at 2.9 according to AOD. THere is an increase since I increased the score in 3DMark from 13800 to 15200 moving from 2.5 to 2.9 GHz.

Another problem is that I've set the multiplier to 14.5x = 2.9GHz and adjusted cpu vid to make it stable, applied and saved. Though, after a reboot it's set to 14x = 2.8GHz. I cannot figure out why.

I just reinstalled AOD and changed MaximumVCoreEnabled to 1 in Preference.xml, but CPU VID still tops out at 1.25v. The actual CPU voltage is 1.36v. Any suggestions?

    Question

Wow 257mhz HT bus? with what are you cooling it? Is that clock speed safe?
How could I know when I am exceeding the HT bus speed and if I have to lower memory frecuencies? Does anyone knows some guide to oc Phenoms?

I dont get it. no matter what i do i cant get my NB speed to NOT rise all the time, no matter what i do with ANY of the multipliers, only the HTlink transport speed are affected

GA-MA790GP-DS4H 9950BE volts are not accurate either(it wont read what values i put in bios) Im looking forward to new bios and a AOD update.

The Bios has option for CPU V-Core, AOD is showing CPU-VID. They are not the same. So the VID is correct in AOD. When increased It will add to your V-core value. I have this board..and the same chip.. I run F2a bios.. I can adjust NB HT-link etc with no issues... You have to bring down both HT link and NB in bios.

mmm aod 2.1.4 shows 0 on GPU engine speed meter and -1 on GPU memory speed meter after installing catalyst 8.11.

I have reinstalling aod 2.1.4 and still shows nothing.
GPU-z however displays data perfectly. Seems that AMD people doen't know how to get data from their own hardware. Too weird.

Same here. Guess we'll just have to wait for a new AOD. (Or maybe they'll "fix" the video drivers.)

it amazes me that macci was so 'up' on this version, but yet here we are with not clock issues, or HT ref not working or something like that.

there own hardware is not being 'read' by there own software?

god, a third party app like GPU-Z has no peoblem with this, why not AOD?

this just proves my point with this software, that everybody was 'defending'

    its rubbish

mmm I don't know if it is rubbish exactly.. but it's not going as well as they state and AMD don't seem to care about it. It would be great that instead of having to install AOD, Catalyst and Fusion all this come included in some software specially designed for amd-ati platforms or something like that. That would be real fusion. Also would be great that this software automanages pc power scheme and overcloking when running games or heavy loads of job. Not to mention that the ATI fan control it's still depressing (I have modified the bios months ago to handle this issue properly).
Don't get me wrong I love this ati 4850 and the little phenom but I just think the software isn't up to this hardware.

Well, I won't say it work great because overclock should be set up in BIOS IMHO, however it does seem that the DFI Lanparty DK 790FXB-M2RSH has most of the required hooks for AOD functionality.

    I'm using v2.1.4

I had my two 4870's on my Gigabyte board and AOD detected both cards and provided readings on them but when I moved the cards to my new system using the Asus M3A79-T and it doesn't detect them on this board. I get the 0 and -1 readings as others have. Thats with AOD 2.1.4 on both boards.

Thought it was known by now that the blac interface is only available with SB750 mobo's, any other and its the Red GUI.

I havn't had many problems at all with v.2.1.4.

Its not 100% perfect, for sure, but it works where I need it to work, and thats to change settings on the fly, and test, before setting in BIOS and re-testing.

Like others, I too have the issue with GPU Status, but I think this is more to do with the ATI Drivers than it is AOD itself, as it used to work OK for me on my M3A32-MVP with older Cat Drivers.

But since installing on this mobo, and updating Catalyst to 8.11, its no longer working...!!

The other issue is with the system info page, and again is mainly to do with the GPU info, with everything else being fine. Then there's the System Info Diagram, now that doesn't work so well as it only detects my RAM, CPU and GFX Cards..... and of those it places my RAM in the same Channel, wehn its actually setup in Dual Channel.

The Diagram doesn't detect any of my USB Devices, DVD-RW, HDD's etc....!!

But the whole Diagram thing is more of a novelty gimmick IMO, and hasn;t really got any practical use, just a bit of eye-candy...!!!

Nice if it works..YES... but not improtant at all...!!!

THe main functionality of AOD is fine though, at least in my experience of 2.1.4 with the M3A79-T

I've got no cause for complaint about it as it makes any changes that I need it to make really......with perhaps the one exception that I would like to have, being the absence of the NB Multiplier.... the HT Multiplier is there, but theres' nothing for the NB Multiplier, and of course the HT Multiplier is bound to the NB Multiplier at least on the M3A79-T, so the HT Multiplier Max setting in AOD is limited by whatever the NB Multiplier is set at in the BIOS..... it would be useful to be able to adjust the NB Multi and the HT Multi in AOD...

Other than that one missing setting, I'm relatively happy with AOD 2.1.4
