    @PytonOrm

    Am i missing something about the rated FSB? How come you have it running on 2750Mhz?? (CpuZ) Isn't the FSB for the e8**00 1333Mhz?
    I was scared of the high rating, mine is at +-1750Mhz and cant oc more because of mem not going higher then 860Mhz...

    Where do you get your E8500 E0s

    Hey guys. First post here
    Just wanted to ask where do you get your E8500 E0s from?? I want want and all my local stores don't have it. I saw some forum sites that sell E8500 E0, where I can order online.
    Anybody else knows a store where I can order E8500 E0 guaranteed, to Canada?

    Thanks

    Edit: I've been siting here with all my other parts (Biostar Tpower I45, 2GB OCZ Reaper HXC, Corsair HX520 watts, and antec 900 and Ati Radeon 4870)

    Guys, amazing results so far, really interesting watching this thread! I've got a EP45-UD3P coming in the mail as well as 4GB of G.Skill DDR2 800 CAS4 which I'm planning to run at around 500Mhz...

    Anyway, not sure if I should go for a E8400 or E8500 E0 cpu. Everything that I've seen shows the E8500 clocking higher than the E8400 even using the 9x multi instead of 9.5. I'm pretty confident that my mobo will easily run 500MHz FSB so is it going to come down to the chip? My goal is around 4.4GHz...which CPU would you go with?

    1.38v under load, though the BIOS was set to 1.4 I believe. I was able to attain 4.5 as well last night messing with it. I need water for the heat though.

    first attempt at 4.5Ghz on Air silent

    Got my Q827A E8400 cooled on Xigmatek S1384/ Maximus Formula stable on 4Ghz @ 1.240V around 42 Degrees stressed (auto voltage)

    Cant go higher because mem wont go over 920, will get new ram soon to hit 4.5+Ghz
    (i dont like overvolting ram at all)

    I want to thank everyone on this threat, its realy high quality information and helped me alot

    p.s Just cant compare my E8400 to my AMD X2 5000+@3.2, AMD is really far behind on performance and temps as it could not handle most games maxed with my 3870X2, but the E8400 can for example

    Correct me if im wrong but

    @OCX600RR;

    I think that can be a problem with ddr2 800 because the speeds u c here (+-500mhz) are half the effective speed, with wich the speed is usually indicated.
    PC6400 will run on 800Mhz effective and oc to +-900Mhz, but CPU-Z will say it is running at 400Mhz (800) or in my case 440Mhz wich is 880Mhz effective.

    And because the RAM cannot run slower than the FSB is running you will have this:
    CPU: 488*9=4.4Ghz
    RAM: 488*2=977Mhz effective and i think that will be a very high oc for PC6400 800Mhz RAM but maybe possible.

    For 45 euro you have 2GB 1066Mhz RAM wich will get you there i guess

    I learned this trying the exact same thing with DDR2 800...

    @truehighroller Nice OC dude!!

    Guys do you think I should wait for E8500 E0 to hit the stores, or get E8400 E0 right now?
    I am aiming to get 4.4-4.5 Ghz. I will be running it with Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme + 2 12cm fans. So should I get the E8400 or wait for 1/2 more multiplier and get E8500?

    what I would do is leave cpu at stock and overclock your ram with 20 mhz increments until you find the stability wall, basically I had thought at one time my 800mhz ram was holding me back however I put cpu to stock and got my 800mhz to 1200 with slight voltage increase backed it down to 1120 or 1150 for overclocking manage to get my E8500 to 4.7 4.8 once I get my new stuff ill be able to puch it a little further

    Just buy the e8400... I bought one with 1 idea: 4ghz gaming, it does 4ghz @ 1.20v hours prime/orthos stable, good stuff for a cheap cpu

    I looked at the Extreme Bandwidth section and G.Skill's got a review of the 4GB G.Skill DDR2 800 Black PI series RAM which I'm going to be using and they've got it at 1000Mhz 5-5-4-12 at 2.1v, so I'm hoping my sticks can do the same.
