First few tries were on water only(temps got up 53 C at 3.4GHz range)
the only thing I had change the bios were ddr voltage, ram speed and disable gang support

I got it to run at 3.4GHz by just upping the multi to 17x and bumping the vcore 1.35
    I did a run of 3DMark06 17978, 22 points behind Ben_Brown top score.

Then it was TNPNTP(Take No Prisoners, Nuke The Place)

    Water/Ice cooling(kept my CPU temp at 32 C)
    Set vcore 1.550v
    upped HTT voltage 1.4v
    upped ddr voltage
then I just kept adjusting ref. clock and multi's

I wasn't concerned about finding the lowest vcore voltage to run at those speeds, that's for a later date.

I tried poking around other points around there but non of them seem to give the right voltage .

Also a little update on my chipset water cooling attempts right now its a complete failure .
Well the chipset blocks were fine but seems like my BP 1/2" fittings don't like to work with the EK Multioption Res and the EK 4870 WB.
It didn't pass the leak test and I don't have very much time right now to figure it all out so I'm sadly on air right now.

Anyone know how far the bus speed goes on this board with a Phenom CPU? It would be nice if the NB speed could be pushed up to 2.6GHz or more on this with a Phenom
    Rig 1:
    ASUS P8Z77-V
    Intel i5 3570K @ 4.75GHz
    16GB of Team Xtreme DDR-2666 RAM (11-13-13-35-2T)
    Nvidia GTX 670 4GB SLI

    Rig 2:
    Asus Sabertooth 990FX
    AMD FX-8350 @ 5.6GHz
    16GB of Mushkin DDR-1866 RAM (8-9-8-26-1T)
AMD 6950 with 6970 bios flash

Yamakasi Catleap 2B overclocked to 120Hz refresh rate

I saw the following by gOTVOLTAGE on an M3A78-T (I think he was using a 140w 9950):

Sometimes the Bios is the biggest factor with this.. a good Bios = great Oc period.

    Note:
Ive found that the HTT likes 230/250 max Most Ram freqencies ive tested . Even though I can push the HT to 5200 it is Usually = to the Max NB you run for your given Oc with out exceeding 5200 .

    My conclusion,,
Stable HT above 5200 and NB above 2700 might not be possialbe until 45nm and DDR3 Mobos which is desinged for HT5200+. Then we can push that limit further i believe.
More so i believe the Mobos and Bioses ATm are responsible for the limits of 9x50's. I can push my CPU to 3.55 with 2000HT 2000NB but Mobo holds it back( ,,Particulerly the PWMS cook with the Voltage it needs to Do it.

Your chart would be very valuble and save lots of time tweaking . Especially fo those people that have no unlocked multi going UP

    P.S. i think CPU-Z need more updates for GX/750

I'm running @ 230 currently, but the n/b has mutis if you want to push it. I haven't tried to push the bus with four sticks in the board.

This is what I've gotten to date with a 125w 9950(JAAAB AA 0836 CPDW)/M3A79-T.......http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=427562. NOT the golden sample I hoped for....
    Idles around 52ºC (Swifty 220 Compact|not the best w/c setup!) @1.55v

One thing I noticed about both the Phenoms I have is that they hit the wall about 3.2ghz, after which it becomes a point of diminishing returns. Way more voltage, heat and instability to gain a couple of mhz.

Anyhoo, to all those getting a 125 watter, may the force..er golden sample be with you!

I had a small breakthrough with the kit after my previous post. I raised the bus to 250, lowered the cpu multi half a click to 13.5x, dropped the vcore to 1.4 and now have a reasonably stable 3.375 o/c (Everest Stress), idle temps 34º - 37º depending on which OS it's on. One thing I found at these settings is the n/b absolutely doesn't like the 9x multi..........wouldn't post on this board. Jacked it up to 10x.....no problem.
If anyone is using HWMonitor and can dual boot (Vista/XP), please check your core temps under each OS. My setup is showing 4-7ºC higher under Vista x86 than it does under XP3 x86...........version 1.11.2 HWMonitor.

    Hello guys.

I would also like to pitch in on this thread with my experience with the M3A79. the most I can do stable with my M3A32 mvp deluxe was about 3.3 GHz. I switched over to the M3A79 board and boy was it a difference.

Here is my validation at 3.6 GHz
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=425352

Also my best Super Pi Run at 3.55 GHz. Memory at SPD (5-5-5-18-24), my Super Talent RAM doesn't like tighter timings, runs slower .

If I was to rate this board, i'd give it a 10/10.

Hey Honda guy, I see you got a heck of a chip there man, gotta be very very lucky to hit 3.6 GHz stable with the SB600

wow this is great guys, those newer steppings, especially the 0836s, seem to be hitting 3.5+ with SB750 boards. that's some serious beef And it can only get better.

hehe, yeah bro, i loved my 9850. This 9950 is not so great i think, hard time to get over 3.3 Ghz stable. I got the 0831 stepping though.

    Posting Problems anyone?

I am having a unique problem with my M3A79-T Deluxe....

If I shut my computer down completely, switch off the PSU, and then come back and turn it on, it will not post... so I push reset button on the motherboard and sometimes it will go ahead and post the first time and sometimes I have to reset 5 or 6 times to get it to post.

Today, I had to reset the BIOS with the CMOS pin just to get it to post.

Once it posts and loads windows, it runs great and I can do a "reboot" with no problems, but as soon as I shut it DOWN completely, I have to go through this ritual of "reset" over and over to get it to post.

    Any ideas?

I think it's some sort of RAM problem. I had almost the same with my DFI LP UT 790FX and when I changed the modules it disappeared. Try to enable the MemClk Tristate C3/ALTVID option in BIOS.

That’s Asus build quality for you.

They are grate when they are working, but can give you a lot of post problems. Go to the Asus forum and you will see all there models of motherboards have post problems, not switching on, boot for 3 sec then shut down, etc, etc.

as weird as it may sound. Try picking up the new bios. I had a few posts problems too, some guy over at TPU said it vanished with the new bios, check it out for yourself.

I had a problem with rebooting and cold starts yesterday when I was playing with Quad Crossfire
I traced it back to overclocking the GPU's, a pair Sapphire 3870's and a pair of Diamond 3850's
Once I reset them back to stock, I didn't have a problem restarting
