Wait for the reviews and product specifications to come out before you get your panties in a wad It's still a month before you can even buy the boards and you have no clue what the price or performance will be yet.

Looks kinda funky, a bit more contrast and wopedido, Speed racer!

I remember I liked the Sapphire boards, red and white.

Anyways like Hornet says, f it There are way more important things.

Any engineering tweaks on the revised board or is it just about the colours?

so far the only board that has nf200 is asus work station which has 6 pcie running @ x16 now thats a folding monster board ! this board will run SLi w/o the chip.

Perhaps under that SB heatsink there's a Marvel PATA + SATA Controller

I believe that the additional SATA controllers are now under there, which is good since those were some hot little buggers.

As stated in just about every X58 thread in this forum, the NB still gets quite hot.

great looking board.. it's nice to know that Gigabyte is listening to the feedback by us.. (well they always listen, but this is the first time that involving their color schemes :P )

btw Guys, I don't expect Gigabyte to use color like u guys suggested here, coz it sounds more like Asus board.. As a big manufacturer, I believe Gigabyte wants their own identity.. not like some small manufacturer out there who likes to copy cat the big name motherboard.

It does tend to get quite hot. The NB for my 590 SLI chipset-albeit an older generation, blah blah blah-was sizzling. As the computational power increases, the flow of current through the silicon increases, and you have more heat. If you run SLI/Xfire, Raid, overclock, anything like that you will see the heat from the NB and SB jump. Introducing SSD's is only going to increase this as they will increase the bandwidth and current through the SB. Sure, shrinking the parts and lowering voltages will help, but not THAT much, and the complexity of the chipset is just too high for it to be relatively cool. Active cooling is going to be a must pretty soon...

TDP is supposed to drop and i dont see us feeding monster volts in it any more due to memory controller moving to CPU

    its a valid point

I don't really care about the colors, but I find it weird that Gigabyte doesn't. It's a fact that there's people out there that do care so I can imagine their persistent use of pastel colors scheme does repel a bunch of potential customers.

    PS.
And drop those nasty locking mechanism on the PCIe x16 slots. When I had a Gigabyte i965P board I cut the locks off the slots with pliers...

    ^Hehe...
Anyways, Sapphire tried white solder mask on their high-end S939 boards and iirc, they had problems with keeping the color from getting ruined during assembly/soldering.

actually there was an interview with an mobo engineer, and he said that the cooling on the eraly production samples (plain heatsink) is more then enough to cool the X58. Need to dig for that interview.
