What it actually is, is the AM2+ Denebs are going to fill the gap till the AM3 boards release, as well as the AM3 versions of the CPU's. Deneb AM2+ will be AM2+ only, they won't run on regular AM2 boards, due to the split power plane. I suspect that IMC, and Cores are now set to run at lowest stable voltages, or different voltages all together. Installing on a regular single plane AM2 board would burn out one or the other. AM3 chips on the other hand will be backwards compatible with AM2+ socket boards and DDR2 memory. On the other hand, the AM3 socket is one pin less than Am2/am2+ so an AM2 cpu won't fit in an AM3 board. Since all Am3 boards are DDR2 it wouldn't make since anyways since am2 chips can't run DDR3 memory.
