1.4v would be fine 24\7. Idle and load actual voltage would be below that anyway. Idle it would probably be about 1.38v and load around 1.37v.

Nope. Load = 1.408v. Idle = 1.392v. Both measured in CPU-Z and while stress testing in Orthos small FFT's. LLC is enabled.

Surprised your running LLC. Pushes a lot of things out of whack. No conclusive evidence it kills CPUs, but still, the possibility is there and not just based off smoke fumes.

:\ My vcore has always been very stable on the P5Q Pro. Then again, my PSU ain't no lightweight with 80A across the 12v rails. Even running OCCT I think the highest ripple I saw on the 12v rail was 0.46%, which is well within electrical tolerences.

1.425 vCore set in BIOS = 1.408 idle and 1.360 load.

That's pretty bad. I'm keeping LLC enabled. Nothing I ever try can get this CPU past 4.33GHz anyway. Nothing!

How man "spiking" devices do you have connected to your PSU? Yup, you even have to be careful of things like that to maintain stable, clean power by evenly placing "spiking" devices on the PSU.

That's not ripple. It's voltage regulation. Ripple is only seen on an oscilloscope.
Otherwise thanks for your modded BIOS.
If it ain't broke... fix it until it is.

Spiking devices? I have 2 SATA HDD's, 3 fans (+ 1 fan running from a mainboard fan header) and an IDE optical drive connected to the PSU. That's it. Only 2 cables coming out of my modular PSU.

Didn't say I was using OCCT to look at ripple did I? Just said the highest ripple I saw was while running OCCT

Dee: Those devices may not be "evenly" set up on the PSU, that would explain at least some of your voltage fluctuations.

True I had to spread my shiznit out across my modular because it was having issues with three drives on a single rail , which I rhought would be fine but nope.. It is a silverstone 750W modular one to, no cheapy..

Interesting. So how do I set them up evenly? I hate cable clutter!

Oh, one other thing: I have a "Turbo" mode on this PSU which supposedly combines all 6 rails. That's actually a lie, I don't even think this PSU has 6 rails. Maybe I shouldn't have it on Turbo?

get 703m from the bios pack in first post.. great stuff!

I put the bios file on my usb flash disk and then flash it from the EZ FLASH option inside the bios.
I think AsusUpdate does the job too. But it's always better to do it from Bios.

Basically, make sure all your spiking devices aren't on the same line. For example; have your SATA drives on one line, then use another line for other devices like optical drives, then a 3rd line for things like fans.

What were you doing for 901m to brick your board? I was using 901m prior to my.. "experiment", and it was rock solid. As already said though, 703m is a great BIOS so go with that to start

Right, I'll try tomorrow. I just can't imagine 3 fans and an optical on the same line to be causing problems getting past 4.33GHz, but you never know.

I think I speak for everybody when I say I will be adding what I can
when I can test the BIOS, which will be when my P5Q board gets back from RMA. Also, are you like my internet stalker or something?

Any links you have for asus tools post up, I'm sure I'm not the only BIOS modder out there!

EZ Flash should work just fine. Did you load default BIOS values before you flashed? This is important.

Do as Dee suggested. Also, do NOT use any mBIOS I have not included in my first post. I think a few people have quoted me when I done those BIOS files that pushed things a bit far and as I cant remember my password an stuff atm I can't pull the files from the server until my main system is up again.
