Heck, I'm just glad right now that Asus have figured out how to update BIOSes without causing every program you run to crash and burn. I couldn't even consider any overclocking until I could get stable at stock speeds.

Having said that, I did try bumping down to PL5, and it was nasty. I could just about reboot to the BIOS (which wanted to recover itself off the backup because it kept insisting it was corrupt), and on the one occasion I got into Windows it bailed out as being unable to find pci.sys.

I ended up reflashing 1406 and it's okay again. My system really doesn't like lower PL levels than those chosen under "auto". It tries to hurt me when I go to PL5.
