Well, I just noticed a review of the 940 posted on the TPU forums (forgive me if this has been posted already, bloody huge thread):
    http://xtreview.com/addcomment-id-65...40-review.html

Looking at that, perhaps that number is from 3DMark Vantage

Yeah it seems it's 3dmark vantage cpu score...Which has like zero connections with real world games.

Anyhow,Core i7 is showing as pre-order on many sites, here in CA and here in UK.In Canadian shop 920 model is priced exactly as 2.83Ghz Core2Quad 45nm Q9550.

Mobos are available for pre-order too .They are not exactly cheap at the moment,as any new stuff isn't when it is about to launch.

    FYI
Maybe some don't know Gainestown can run on X58S, but Bloomfield can't run on X58D

    Gainestown on Bloomfield Platform.

This is old and copied from the Chinese. They've also misinterpreted TMPGenc numbers, where nehalem is actually slower.

In a recent document sent to partners, Intel pointed out that when comparing Core i7-965 to a QX9770, we can get 52% more 3D gaming performance, 38% more rendering performance and 41% more movie editing and conversion performance.
50%+ gains in 3D gaming?! I seriously doubt it, I'd be happy if it turns out to be 10% faster in games considering the lack of heavily multi-threaded titles currently available.

Be scared you Intel junkie's the Denab is coming.

I saw the pre sale of the i7's on overclockers yesturday. The extreme i7 was on sale for around £850, that is a complete joke. Intel has obviously reverted back to there old ways due to lack of pressure from other companies, yes amd it is your fault

Well yeah that 17.5% Vat doesn't help, as for overclockers the less i say about them the better.

Are the i7 extreme on pre sale in the USA yet? If so what price are they on sale at?

Probably for similar reasons why a lot of us here at XS use way more than stock voltages (or way more than the VID, for that matter) on most of our CPUs: Because we can

I'd be the postage boy, but preferably to be paid in Euros

EDIT: I'm entirely kidding (about the Euros anyway).
