ASUS Maximus II Formula - new P45 king?

Hey folks,
I'm considering this board for my htpc, with a Q9550 (slightly oc).

My questions is:
1) it is stable with this cpu? If so, which bios? I dont want to see a bsod with lenses.
2) The extra sata ports can be used for a dvd and the boot drive? I need all 6 intel ports for my storage.

This board works very well with the Q9550 and you can OC the 9550 easily to around 3.7GHz with everything pretty much stock 3.8 if your chip is decent.(of course 4GHz is doable 24/7 also but voltages get a tad high)
The only thing I noticed is some ram modules cant handle all the dividers available on this board.
Bios 1307 seems very stable
I'm not sure about the Sata ports
