It's because high memory voltage will fry the memory controllers on these CPU's.

DrWho? has already said it many times.

If this will do 4000mhz 24/7 @100% load with good air or water cooling it's a winner in my book. I know some of you want much higher speeds for benching, etc but there just may be the reality that for that kind of use the yorkies or wolfdales may be the better choice.
I mean take a look at what people are doing with the E8600 E0's..
    6500mhz and SP1m times under 7 seconds..
I don't think this one is going to be equal in those areas but will rule in others.
That's just what I think, not what I know..

ah, right right, because of the IMC. gotcha.

by the way, I may have figured out the official Bloomfield release date according to the following information:

SF3D says the NDA will be lifted November 13. He has many pictures of the Foxconn motherboard.

And here's the new GIGABYTE X58 rev 0.2 board that hicookie posted:
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...t=EX58-Extreme

This seems to be on the same track as what the Aussie's say:

    and

    X58 motherboards already for sale

Goes exactly in line with what Fudo told me as well:

Nehalem release date - 99.99% accurate:

If the QX9650 launched on a Monday, November 12, 2007, then it looks like we may have our release date guys!
