@dnottis, i noticed that you have the same ram as me . what kind of volts are you giving them for the higher overclocks.im having a hard time with mine

Well the is memtest stable to around 1150, haven't gone further. But with the memory over ~1050 I get stability issues. its not the memory, it's either the divider or just high memory speed coupled with the overclock that will make mine unstable. if I drop my OC enough I can run DDR-1100. I think the memory controller on the board starts to choke when the OC is so high.
Currently my ram is only doing 9xx. I just dont think the 45nm like high memory speeds when they are overclocked to the bleeding edge.

@dnottis, but are you keeping them at 1.9v or do you give them more to get 1150

1.7v?? You guys do realize you are destroying a 45nm chip with that much voltage right?
radaja - 1.9 @ 1150. Even 1100 is memtest stable @ 1.8v though.

(Subscribed after my AMD system became unstable at 3.2Ghz)
Sorry for going offtopic on my very first post, but I just ordered a Maximus Formula for my yet to order E8400/E8500.
My question is, will the E8500 get a higher average oc on good air? Its only 20 dollars more than E8400.
Also wondering if water give me more oc on the same voltage?
I couldn't find a updated oc-batchnumbers-list here, can anybody point me in the right direction?
Looking forward to getting it to its max, Ill be sure to post batchnumber and oc results here!![]()
Make sure you get an E0 chip SLB9J for e8400 and SLB9K for e8500.

The 20 bucks is basically paying for the extra .5 in multiplier (9 vs 9.5). As with all chips, YMMV on OC.
Thanks
Big fan of this thread![]()
Here is another run I did back in January with an early CO SLAPL 8400. Its been running great at 4500 24/7 and can still do 4900.:![]()
I just got my 8400 q828 wafer #11 in the mail with a p5q-e and 4gb g.skill 8000 cl5q. So far i'm just making sure everything is stable, running 3.6hz 400 x 9 at 1.1v cpuzCurrently loading at 52c with xigmatek 1283 and antec tri cool on medium inside an antec sonata.
will try 4ghz later
EDIT; Got impatient. 4ghz is running ~61c on intel burn test ATM. However, 4ghz is taking 1.30vcore in bios 1003. Under load it is dropping to 1.232 - 1.240 in cpuz. I do not have load line correction enabled as I read it does bad things to chips..
Anyone else getting this 0.06 - 0.07 droop under load? Are any bioses better at handling this? I'm not sure I want to enable LLC or do a vdroop mod...
Looks like this chip is pretty average, anyone care to comment?

Well, maybe nobody has the board you mentioned... But what's exactly your question? If you only need 4 GHz, 445 x 9 would do it, and AFAIK 99% of all P35 boards are capable of 445 on FSB (with dual-cores at least). Your RAM is rated 8000 - i.e. 1000 MHz, thus it won't hold you back at those 445 x 9 (it'll be running only @ 890 MHz when on 1:1 divider at FSB 445). Maybe you should ask in Blood Iron thread too.
