I don't understand why the QDC couldn't simply be made LARGER to the extent that the restrictive part is 10mm or so (most barbs having an ID of 10mm, which is less than the 1/2" ID of the tubing anyway). I know they might get BIG, but maybe the large style could only be used for things like external radiators and watercooling setups.

Regarding VGA and chipset blocks it depends on what the uptake on this block is like....the design is easy to port though so manufacture would be quick

There is a limit to what the bulk of people like and would buy...we have to look at the whole market when deciding on a product...pleasing a few helps but I need to please a wide audience. So you not minding a large quick connect may not reflect what the market wants...i buy 1000 and sell 100..not good.

Also...t304 or t316 stainless would do no harm to your loops guys...it may also be cheaper. Copper and copper based alloys still look to be quite expensive

Ok Tony, love your work, but seriously, lets consider some things:

1 - Acrylic does not crack if done right. EK, DD and various other water cooling brands use it and they do not crack. Cracking is typically because someone over tightens their barbs, uses alcohol, or it was just poorly made.

2 - FCB, really wish you would reconsider this, but I understand you have to sell to the market demands and a universal block is in higher demand. So two things, make it so the barbs when attached sit above the card, makes for routing the tubing easier. And second, make one that is acrylic, . Seriously,

A bit off topic, but I have a comment on the OCZ Freeze.

I got some in the mail today, and did a fresh application on my Q6600 @ 3.81ghz 1.53v (Fuzion V1, D-5 at 5 setting, MCR220, YL Medium w/ 1 3/4" shroud)

Lowered my temps 2C from Shin Etsu.

Nice I've got a new favorite TIM.

Read coolmeisters thread. Another acryllic crack. It just cannot handle that hot+cool expansion with the force of a barb screwed into it.

Rather an asthetics based comment, I don't care for how it looks, unless highly polished to a chrome like finish...

I can't remember what it's called now, but there is an electro acid dipping type process that will turn stainless into a mirror/chrome like finish. My older brother used to work in a stainless fabrication shop, and he was always bringing home these artsy chrome like stainless goodies.

It may not be as hard and durable as chrome plating, but it's really nice..

stainless can be machines or polished to mirror...done it may times in a past life (10 yrs ago) LOL

If it has to be nickel plated brass then i will make sure thats what it is...you guys will just have to pay thats all.

On to the debate regarding full coverage VGA blocks, I really don't think that's the right path for OCZ, its to part specific for us which means lower volume. The only way I can get costs down is to hit the market with a universal block and maybe come with our own version of a uniplate...i actually know who makes the units you guys like already.

We will have to wait and see how this CPU block does first
