    Wow close by! that's awesome!

I have pretty good stability now at 4750, Linked and synced at 1900. System runs pretty smooth, I have not run any prime tests, but I'm not so concerned about them. I'm able to run all benchmarks at these settings. I'm defiantly seeing the differences between a dual and a quad. For Video benchmarks my QX kills this cpu even at much lower clocks. 18k points single card in 3dmark06 at 4275 MHZ opposed to my 16k scores with the dual core at 4750. I thought about selling the QX but I think I may keep it, I can see a use for both. Not sure what I'll end up using for daily use, probably the Quad once I get a board dedicated for DICE benching.

Hy guys !!! Been out for some time now, i was on vacations....
Good to see this post itīs not dead ...
My Board still rocks with my QX9650 at 1800FSB!! No problems at all!
But i will try to go a litlle further on the FSB... maybe 1850...
Have anyone tried the new BIOS 1103?
    Does it really improve something?

I'm using it..after limited testing it changes nothing for me as far as overclocking any further than 1702 linked and synced... which I have been stable with since the 8 series.

I've been meaning to post, thanks for asking.

PLL on auto - prime froze after 4 hours (bios monitoring said is was 1.52v)
PLL set at 1.58 - prime froze after 1 hour
PLL set at 1.56 - prime froze after 2 hours

I might have those backwards....I'm gonna try again tonight....I'll post what I find later tonight, or tomorrow.

Edit: the 1.58 was actually 1.6v. don't know for sure what voltage the 2 hour freeze was.

It looks like you are going backwards as far as stability is concerned when PLL is increased. I will take a look @ your settings one more time.

    System Info:
E3110 (will do 450 x 9 if I leave the mem at 1600 7-6-6-20-2T which was stock timings when I bought them back in April - mfg's specs have since changed - OCZ 1600EB4GK)
    Caseless
    Fans over ram and NB
    Fans also blowing across
    TRUE 120 push-pull
    Vista Ultimate x64

Settings in BIOS - 1002 non-beta (board overvolts almost everything I think):
    1780 QDR
    1780 DDR3
    Unlinked
    8-8-8-24-2t-all sub-timings on auto
    P1 - Enabled
    P2 - Enabled
    Vcore - 1.325
    LLC - disabled
    PLL - Auto
    VTT - 1.3
    Mem - 1.86
NB - 1.36 (was at 1.46, tried up to 1.5 in .02 steps....memtest failed or locked sooner with higher voltage)
    SB - 1.55
    NB GTL - +20mV
If it's not mentioned, it's auto.

It passes memtest at least 3 passes. It passes Winblows memory diagnostic tool (default....what are you guys using for settings for this?). Passes OCCT 1hr CPU, 1 hr MEM, 2 hr MIX. Passes 3dm06. Can't get it to Prime successfully. I seem to be able to game without trouble....mostly been sim-racing lately....not much of a load on the system though. Any suggestions for 24/7 stability/Prime stability? Thanks for any help.
I looked at your settings and I think 1.36V is way too low for 4GB RAM and high FSB, especially with P1/P2 enabled. Try 1.4 SPP and disable P1/P2 and Memtest first for starters. It has happened to me so many times with the earlier BIOS release with P1/P2 enabled and system freeze while priming. Heck, I even RMAed a very good pair of same EB sticks that you have, just because of the system freeze and I thought it was the RAM. Those sticks did 1800@ 7-7-7 no problems with 1.96V and it turned out be a BIOS problem with P1/P2 enabled. The replacements that I got sucks big time.Your sticks also look good as they could do almost 1800 @ 1.86 passing memtest.

The Vcore also looks pretty nice for 4GHZ that you are running(1780x9).Usually when the vcore is too low you will see a BSOD and/or a system restart.I also hope all the spread spectrums are disabled and C1E and EIST diabled(the usual stuff while ocing).

    Good luck.

Never a BSOD or restart. Only freezes in Prime (edit: and other applications). Yup, all spread and C1E etc. disabled.

I had P1 and P2 enabled to get my read speed and latency faster. I'll play with the stuff you suggested. Thanks for the help.

Also - edited previous post above.

    Hello all,

    im having some problems overclockin,

    my setup :
    xq9650
    striker 2 extreme
2gb ocz ReaperX 1333 with that 6-5-5-something latency
    runnin vista ultimate 32 bit

my processor and motherboard are both watercooled.
    xspc delta v2
    liang pump
    xspc 360 rad
and that standart asus nb block

im just tryin to get it overclocked first only with playing with the mp, and i just raise the voltages till the highest voltage that still stays green in the bios (and pumped cpu voltage upto 1.4).
tried types of cpu clocks, but i just cant get it stable.
when i start multicore prime it just almost insta-fails.

im lookin for a 24/7 overclock, otherwise i woudnt get this cpu + mobo.
i have that 0902 bios in, and on normal speeds everything is workin.
it seems i have the baddest xq9650 around.

    and another little problem.
i just cant get accurate reedings of my tempatures.

    Iddle :
    Asus probe : CPU 22
    coretemp : core 0: 34 core1: 50 core2: 50 and core3 : 42 (only the first core changes in temp)
    everest : cpu 19
how im gonna now what are my cpu temps hehe.

anyone who had problems like this?

    @Slim142;

Installed my Fesser quad last weekend, beats my old BI 480GTX across the board by ~ 3C with much slower fans (panaflow 38mm's).

Only goofy thin was fesser uses 3mm fan mounting screws. Kinda hard to find those in 45mm length to accomodate the 38mm fans.

    It's an awesome rad.

Thats great to hear, I thought about getting the BI for a moment after seeing how complicated it was getting for me to get a Feser, but Im glad I got a Feser!
Im trying to use 4 Sanyo Denkis 1011, but I currently have 2 only, if I could just find 2 more... oh well, if they dont come I will use High Speed UV Blue Yate Loons.

I cant wait to see my system with my WC parts. I just spent another $200 yesterday buying the D-tek CPU Block, EK Res250 and the Swiftech MCP655 pump. Im getting so close...

I think the one in the CD is AWDFlash 1.02, I would check and if its not 1.33, download it from ASUS.com

I bet it's somehow related to the Velociraptor Raid 0 I'm using on this build. Never had that problem with previous builds and the same mobo.
And since there seems to be some kind of problem with the 790i and the VRs in Raid it's got to be related.

Edit: Guys, where the hell can I download bios 1103? Searched everywhere, even manually on the Asus ftp. It's not there.
