Solarfall, I had E8500, which booted on my TPower 6x602FSB easily. No I have E8600 and it can't pass 590FSB the same settings.
Also, what rev board do You have and what are the exact markings on clockgen IC: http://ceemic.pri.ee/hardware/tpower/tpower12.JPG ?

Seems impossible to get an Q9550 with E0 stepping here, so I'll get the Q9550 with C1 stepping (sadly).
Hope it clocks well in this board, want atleast 3,6Ghz!

Can some more people report how well there clocking their quads on this board? More specifically the Kentsfield's chips. I have a Q6600 and wondering if I should grab this or maybe the Asus P5Q-E for around the same price. Is the I45 4 or 8-Phase power? I would think that 8-Phase power would be better for clocking a quad. Any help would be great as I need to purchase a new board ASAP and had my eyes on the I45.

    Thanks

i looked at the board and it appears to be four phase...probably the same as IP35 Pro...the Vdroop on the Tpower for a dual core is around 0.024v and for my QX9650, i see about 0.048 Vdroop; basically double the Vdroop of a dual core...makes sense since you have two more cores...the Vdroop is about equal for Quad CPU's when compared to the the IP35 Pro board but the Vdroop was higher for a dual core on the Pro board.

i believe this board is more suitable for a dual core to get high FSB and overclock...the quad overclock is about on par or slightly on the minus side with other boards.

found it! but now windaows says it's not functioning properly? WTF! I think though that this is software related thistime not board related, man I'm not used to all these jumpers asus boards it all done electronically so it's like a whole new learning experience.

I did some more exploring with +0.250v on my cpu vcore tonight. Here are a couple of superpi bench(s). I was using my Kingston HyperX PC2-9200 (2x1gb). RCOMP 3 and had +0.250v on chipset and +0.225v on fsb. I flashed to Polygon's (Rebels Haven) modified P45AA626.RH1 BIOS as well. My board came with 0620 which I used for a few weeks untill I moved on to 0710.

I'm still having a hard time getting high speeds on my Kingston HyperX PC2-9200 or my Patriot Extreme Viper PC2-9600. They both spec at 2.3v and I think they both have some of the better Micron IC but it seems like I'm hitting some kind of wall around 500 to 520 fsb 1/1 the other divders don't seem to do much either. I have had good success with my OCZ Reaper PC2-9200 spec 2.1v... no problem going 533 to 575 and even up to 600. I'm glad I got the OCZ first because I know the board can reach high fsb. I've been trying many different RCOMP/voltage combos but no luck yet. If anybody with successful high memory speed (Micron IC ) overclocks would care to share some of their settings I would appreciate the help.

think of this board as a budget board..before oil price shot up, this board would probably cost like $120 to 130.

i presume you have to re-install the video driver again...is there a crossfire driver that you have to install?...i am not a dual VC user as you can tell....i am using the 2nd 16x slot for my Areca Raid 8x card.

    Usually with

    FSB fine tune: enabled
    DDR2 Enhanced Mode: enabled

I experiment with them off as well.

True Black with dual Sycthe S-Flex. I also have two more powerful Sanyo-Denki that I sometimes swap in. I'm caseless on an open testing bench

I have an extra Swiftech Apex Ultra water kit but I have not hooked it up yet

Thanks a lot Ace, I appreciate it. I think if I was on a dual core I'd get the I45 but I'll go ahead and grab a board that has 8 phase cooling for my quad.

Guys what up? I finally got this board into a 24/7 box.

Any bios updates after 7/10 yet? I need finer grain control of vcore. .05v bumps is ridiculous lol.

Case in point - I can run this Q820A405 at 4.5ghz Blend Priority 9 stable with 1.36 on other boards. This board forces me to jump from 1.35 to 1.4 vcore to get stable. I need something in between those points.

    Anyone else feel my pain?

i emailed tech support USA and they said Asia tech support deals with beta bioses...no answer for 3 weeks....i might try again to see if the message just got lost.

it would be nice if the vcore increase increments would be smaller like: 0.0125 or 0.025

it has been a BIG uphill climb to find the bios settings that allows my QX9650 to do a wee bit better than what i have posted on the first page.

right now, it looks like 485 FSB is the max stable for me...it took HOURS of trying different bios settings.

right now i am performing Prime 95 at 4130 Mhz (485 FSB X 8.5)...i am early into it with smal FFT's..temp is hovering right around 68-70C (outside on the bench).

comparison to other boards; i am about 10 FSB above previous boards including an X48 DDR3 board.

Vdroop is large under small FFT crunching; about 0.0450v!..so far with 15 minutes into it, it is holding.

EDIT:...made a correction to Vdroop after looking at it again and then re-calculating it.

also, the Tpower2 software needs A LOT OF WORK on improving on the software...it saves no settings once you close it out and then reopen it...it literally is a VERY POOR designed software for overclocking...abit's Uguru overclocking software has TPower2 beat HANDS DOWN!

since i re-opened TPower 2 to evaluate the Vcore droop...the software shutdown the system because it has it set automatically for default around 65C; so while i was doing the math, it shutdown...GRIND!
