    GTX 260 - D-Tek GFX 2 GT200 adaptor, results.

I picked up a D-Tek FuZion GFX 2 VGA Waterblock for my GTX 260. It kind of sucks because I just purchased an MP-01 for my HD4870s that kept dying. However, there is a new bracket for the FuZion to mount it on the GT200s (http://www.petrastechshop.com/dgfx2nv200se.html). One is coming for the MCW-60 soon.

I ordered the bracket from Petras and the block elsewhere due to stock issues. The blocks are already shipping with the GT200 bracket - but it was a good thing I had extra parts because the screws with springs they give you are just retarded. One popped off across the room - gone. Another one was missing the screw, just the spring was there. I managed to get everything mounted with the water block but I'm having a hell of a time getting the damn ram sinks to all stay on. Usually they are easy to knock off - but having so many on the card doesn't help, you cannot touch the card without losing a few. Then the VRMs I had to cut down some sinks that would fit in a few of the tighter spots.

Its too bad no one is selling after market VRM sinks yet for the GTX 280/260 line. The D-Tek unisink is nice but OOS everywhere and the unreleased GTX 280/260 Thermalright cooler comes with some nice sinks and VRM hardware but thats not even available yet.

Anyways - I'm wondering if you really even need ram sinks and VRM sinks, my 8800GTX ran so cool and a few people I know didn't even bother to sink their memory on the 8800GTX. Even running it overclocked had no issues. The other nice thing to see was the GT200 bracket already shipping with the D-Tek GFX 2 VGA block. I'll get some pics up later, had to leave for work without finishing - which really pisses me off - but thats for another rant.

Has anyone else water cooled a GTX 260 or GTX 280 like this yet? With a non FC block and sinks? Just wondering what kind of temps / airflow needed for the memory / vrms.

Say what? The Fuzion V2 already has the bracket . . .. . oh well it was only $9 total to Aus XD.

I wanted the unisink too but D-Tek haven't replied to my email asking about stock and I sent that on Monday [6 days of no reply]. So stuff it. I'm just going to use ramsink because they work too. Since you're a couple of weeks ahead of me I would like to know how it all goes. Oh yeah some pictures of the block mounted would be swell too

Will do - depending on where you order the block from you might still need to buy the bracket separate. I guess I got lucky - but having spare parts came in handy D-Tek isn't giving an ETA on the uni-sink which seems strange, wondering if it's discontinued now that they released the bracket for the GFX 2.

I'll have some pics of it tonight after work. Just need to get those pesky ram sinks to stick. Ordered some Enzotech Mosefet sinks (http://www.petrastechshop.com/enmomohekit.html) for the tiny fets on the GTX 260. For now I cut up some ram sinks and mounted those on them, hoping it cools it well enough for a few days.

Watch the spring / screws when you mount it, PITA, one shot off into nowhere land. The mounting is difficult if you are attaching the block to the card with the system already filled. I never attach an emtpy block, then fill and leak test. My blocks get filled / leak tested then attached. I'd imagine mounting on a bench without tubing connected would be easier... but who likes easy...

that sucks that you got those old style zalman ramsinks, I've used them and their tape is terrible. the new zalman sinks (with fanning columns) have excellent thermal tape, i think they are some of the best sinks around due to their low profile (except for the enzotechs of course, they are just pure pwnage)

I bought a whole roll of 3m thermal tape awhile back for like $17. I've got enough for the rest of my life lol. I already pulled the stock garbage off and used this. The problem is those stupid white stock NV pads make the ram really slipperly and until the ram gets hot the ram sinks just wont stick. You're right though the white stuff isnt even sticky, it's crap. I'm holding out for IandH to come up with some ram sinks and mosfet sinks for the GT 200s.

I picked up some Enzotech mosfet sinks for now though, they should be here tuesday or weds. The TT ones I cut with my dremel and ground down work for now though. Furmark pushed the VRM temps to 80+c and they do get hot, however gaming / ati tool / rthdribl barely push them past 60 c.

Today I took my dremel to the mosfet sinks of my 8800GTX. VRM temps are a few degrees lower. Gaming put them maxing about 57c, furmark still pushes VRM into the 80s.

here is a picture of the after -

New GT200 hold-down plate is here effective yesterday. here are pics. we are just waiting for shorter screws to arrive (using 1" long for the pic here, but I prefer 7/8") before we start shipping.

the mounting system is truly sweet. fasten 4 screws to hold-down plate with threaded nylon standoffs. now you have a 4-legged block. Drop block on card, and fasten to back with 4 thumbnuts. hard-mount. perfect contact. no bowing. really nice :-)
