Just go check your voltages in bios after oc failed, if they where to high just put them has you want. With bios 301 did the same, i don't understand why, it puts the max vcore an vmem the board can give.

Asus DVDRW sata, no problems with that.
Have you tried with another version of windows? Isn't yours riped of drivers?

Got mine up and running and after some trial and error it's running fine now.

Couldn't get the X-fi soundcard working but after a reseat it worked.

It seems to like my Gskill 12800 HZ's with samsung chips but trfc won't go much lower than ~65. I could even get them to work with 1T but that required a bit more volts, it did make a difference in 1M though.

I have the fusionblock connected to my loop and temps are ok, running 1.49v now (auto setting) it's 47ºC while i type this. (23ºC ambient)

Of course i had to try 32M at 600FSB and succeeded.

Note the 3:5= 2:3 divider bug. 333 strap iirc.

Time is horrible but it's untweaked and with a very nasty OS, it was just for testing 600FSB.

So far i really love the board, Tweak-it is a very nice touch, works like a charm here.

haha, someone has been to the Bot today

thanks buddy, but the CPU is tops with those results, unfortunately -110C'ish cold bug, no cold boot issue up to there though which is nice. the hunt continues for a better E8600 i guess. i still have my great little E8400 to put through the paces on this board so that should be another fun session too.

i will be posting results from the session along with some more photos of insulation and whatnot in the coming days once the review is posted.

Does anyone know what "power" is in Asus probe II?

Once it gets over 45ºC it goes red and the system seems to become unstable, i.e. Prime/Orthos errors out.

Btw, on bios 0501 now, initial testing seems ok.

have the same Question about this "POWER" sensor ? what is this related

On my open (table) stand in normal (idle) @ 4Ghz is on ~ 27C*(+-) @ ambient ~22C / and while start prime it slightly rize
but i have got it much higher - ~60C ? during my prime + ''Heat-up'' session
(when i forced it to take higher temps by taking off fan from CPU cooler) " something like '' worst case scenario '' or something
but nothing happened .. system remain stable .

i haven't adjusted threshold in PC Probe conf .. only have disabled the popup and alarm .. i found , in Prime some times it dropped core when alarm or popup hits .. when this is disabled ..i run same bench again all stable
only the colors go red in this asus probe '' brick tower'' anyway .. could be a coincidence of different circumstances

    Unhappy Why

Why doesn't work HIREN'S BOOT CD on RAMPAGE EXTREME?
I have optical on Marvell controller and when I select boot from CD, only beeps on MB speaker.

If I put optical on Intel controller, it doesn't found cdrom(no driver to load) I tried every combination of S-ata, Ide(selecting on menu of hiren's boot Cd)..
    WTF?
I want to use Hiren's boot CD for partitioning HDD's and Norton Ghost for Backup.
    Any sugestion?

I'm playing with these memories ...
It seems that with current bios the mobo has a sort of a wall . I can't pass 1040(2080DDR) Mhz .Tried from 1.9 to 2.2V with no success.

    Also ... as requested ... the 0501 bios is here : http://www.jmax-hardware.com/accueil.../download.html

the highest i have clocked them is 920MHz 7-7-6 for dual 32M but haven't really spent a lot of time with them. i tried at one point to get them 900MHz Prime Blend stable at 7-7-6 but couldn't and after 10 minutes of fiddling i couldn't and moved on to something else. perhaps at some point i can spend a bit more time with them but it is benching time for this board. here is the screenshot of 920MHz dual 32m...

    Some quirks with tweak it:

Sometimes when i want to set Vcore with the tweak it utility, the lcd poster shows Vcore 1.500V when i'm only using 1.3V.

Sometimes the light on the confirm button dies but comes back to live after a complete power down, that means shutting the psu off.

Anyone have Corsair Dominator 1800 running in this board, i can get a set real cheap but i'm also considering some Micron JNL as i saw some awesome results with that.

    Decisions...

Looks like a professional photographer took this picture, it looks great m8! It must be nice to have that 4870X2 under H20 now, I'm sure the temps a bit lower! You did a seriously great job Mike, look forward to some testing results now!

i have the exact same issues, the confirm button light, and the vcore. i have found the vcore adjustments not to work really well at all through TweakIt during this weekends session and pretty much stopped using it for that. sometimes i would end up with 1.15v

as the dominators, they run the XMP profile no problems at all, with ver1.3 which is Micron based. newer 1800 dominators are a mixed breed so the ICs are always different for the various revisions. i haven't done any overclocking with the dominators but since they were Micron based, i didn't bother.

i have also posted the full review over at Hardware Canucks.com. i will be posting some of the bench results from the first LN2 session shortly. the dewar was filled again today so hopefully i have time for more work this weekend as well. my E8600 seems to top out at 6.1GHz~6.15GHz for some benches so nothing really exciting but still solid numbers.

@Mike...very nice looking system, the tubing setup looks great

Thanks for the info, glad to see i'm not the only one.

Apart from those two little problems it has worked well for me, comes in real handy when you're looking for a Prime stable setting, it saved me many reboots.

As for the Dominators, i think they're version 1.1, does that mean it's Micron?

I have some Gskill 12800HZ running in there now but those have Samsung HFC0 chips and the stick don't like: a) Cas7 b) voltage c) trfc lower than ~60

I guess the Dominators will be a better bet?

According to Corsair's Website, the 1.X revision is a Qimonda chip.
