    GTX280 Tri-Sli + D-Tek Fuzion GFX2 + Unisinks results

I always was a fulcover block fan because of the simple use in sli-setups, with the sli connector barbs i'ts the most neat solution to watercool the vga's.
On the other hand i know that watercooling the ram and mossfetts doesn't bring any more performance over good passive/aircooling.
Besides that it brings a lot of useless heat into the system.
And least but not last, only a block on the core gives better coretemps than fullcover blocks.
So this time I decided to go the hard way and bought 3 sets of D-Tek Unisinks and Fuzion GFX2 blocks.
Installing was a breeze, and i like the whole mounting idea, using the stock memory heat spreader, wich actualy function great as a backplate
The biggest problem there is that with tri-sli you cant bent those tubes without buckle them (inside a case off course)
So i cut 6 pieces of 90` elbows on 1 cm and with some tubing made them 180`
Quite thrilling while leak-testing, and very happy they didn't leak
    I made some (clickable) photo's

    Unisinks installed:

    Fuzion GFX2 installed:

    Setup running:

The water is chilled @ 16`C (Hailea 1500 waterchiller and 50 litre reservoir)
    No voltmods on the vga's

    Results: core/shader/mem
    Stock: 602/1296/1100
    OC-ed stock air cooler 720/1458/1250
    OC-ed unisink + GFX2 783/1566/1296

Temps stock air cooler stressed with 702/1458/1250 max 86`c
    Temps unisink+GFX2 stressed 783/1566/1296 max 31`c
    Definatly worth it !!

Very nice build. I'm getting my G92 unisink here in a week, they look awesome.

I hope you don't mind, but I uploaded the pics to my photobucket. It makes them A LOT easier to see.

After having to deal with bull that is ramsinks, I'm NEVER going that route again. Bolt on unisinks ftw!

Though I like the look of ianh's sinks a lot better then D-Teks. But with the damn ATX cases you can't see it anyway

The only thing I don't like about the non-FC blocks is that no one makes a skinny one. With a FC block, it's tight, but you can often fit a card in the slot immediately below (or above depending on MB orientation) the one with your GPU, but I haven't seen a single non-FC block that that was possible with.

so, what do the 90degrees do for flow on us with normal setups (ie not with insane waterchillers, etc!)

    I use 2 Swiftech MCP655 pumps.
    no.1 : pump-cpu-nb-vga-vga-vga-reservoir-pump
    no.2 : pump-chiller-reservoir-pump
So more than enough flow in the loop.
Most restrictive is off course the EK Supreme block, the other blocks ain't that restrictive.
And actualy barbs on fullcover are also 90` on the block so that shouldnt make a lot of difference with my modded 90` elbows.

I don't mind, as long as the admin don't mind
I changed picture no.2 because it was corrupt, black box over it.

I have a question. I will also chill my video cards, going for the same cards as you, gtx280. The chiller will be my SS phase change unit used to cool the CPU. I have ordered it with a water chiller as well.
My question is: if the water temperatures, at the exit point from the chiller is lower than the ambient temperature, wouldn't it form condensation? Shouldn't the tubing be thermally isolated, at least up to the 1st video card?

Nicely done, very jealous of your set-up. I'm not quite ready, financially or mentally, for a chiller yet but good to see such great results. I can say though that I am not so envious of all those cables.

Thanks all for great respons !!

    @ Terente0081 , take a look at this chart : http://justchillin.co.nz/pics/Misc/dewpointchart.jpg
Theres all you need to know
I keep my temps on 16`c wich works great for me, without condensation.
Besides that i have good airflow in my case, very important beacause in the case it's a lot warmer than outside the case, this airflow blows the condensation wich might occur away.
If you go very low in temps, live in a warm country or have high humidity, you need to isolate your tubing with neopreen.

@ Red Evil, I imported them from Sidewinder Computers USA, in EU theres none in stock, and it might take another 2 months before they will show up.

@ Anemone, you use the stock backplate wich works like a charm, cools the ram, works as a backplate for the unisink to keep the card straight and best of all, you already have it, so no extra costs

It will play Crysis when they get rid of the 2560x1600 tri-sli bug
When standing still and wait 30 seconds, the sli indicator pops to full, so all 3 cards working, and have 60+fps.
But when you take 1 step or look around, the indicator drops down to half and frames get between 20-35.
Well, i dont care anymore, have played through Crysis on 2560x1600 high settings and am done with it.
Let's hope Far Cry 2 gets better optimization

I got the feeling D-Tek stopped producing those unisinks.
    Everywhere out of stock.
If someone spots them, please let me know.
A friend of mine wants them.

I was looking for 4 weeks before I just gave up. Never did get an email saying when stock would be distributed either. I guess they greatly underestimated the volume.

    I use an Evercool VC-RE.
Tri-Sli with stock heatsink is a no-go (overheating and system shut down)
With Evercool it runs like a charm

Apparently NCIX has the 280 uni-sinks back in stock. Got an e-mail notification from them today.

    http://www.ncixus.com/products/31197...Tek%20Customs/

They're the new models, the ones with the pins rather than the long fins. The new model is probably why we couldn't find them for the longest time in stores. Got my 1st revision from a friend though, so it's all good
