I never use the heater, when i own a vapo.
I think GTZ its the same.
    It's a nice looking block.

Regards the heater. I'm lead to believe the due point is 23c here in Thailand. The control panel over the last couple of days had managed to switch off my heaters for some reason. Only found out today.

As a result the condensation has been a nightmare to keep under control.

Therefore no heating pad isn't really an option here for 24/7. A shame, because it looks like a decent board.

so when i try to install Windows vista x64 i get no harddrive detection - > ofc this is normal cuse i made a raid 0 array and it asks me to install drivers.

I put in the driver cd from asus and navigate to drivers and to the raid directory go to 64 bit and i get one driver listed i sellect this one and the windows installation says that he cannot install the driverOo.

Which drivers did you use to setup your raid 0 config?
    Greetings.

Are you using the Intel ICH9R to make your array?
If so theres no need to instal drivers during instalation, only after if you want.

Guys, carefull with failed oc, i have a failed oc and when i went to bios my cpu was at 1,9v i left it at 1,5v with bios 403, some other voltages where also diferente from the ones i left.

    That's scary!

Some good news, i emailed Eddy from EK waterblocks and he told me they will make a waterblock to replace that fusion block!

Guys... i need some support, i'm staring at a grey box with a bullet hole that screams Rampage Extreme at me all day long...next to it is a small box with a crossbow backplate, anxiously waiting to be mounted.

I was checking HWbot and out of the top 20 SuperPi 32M scores i think at least 15 were done with this board....

And me?...I have to wait untill my RAM comes in....

a small update on the memory clocks, still nothing higher dual 32M SPi stable but 3D stability has gone up substantially with some more vMCH

I have finally replaced the thermal paste and modified the stock heat sink to provide more mounting pressure and low&behold, MCH temps dropped a solid 10~15C across the board at load and idle. This has allowed me to increase MCH voltage and do some fun things with the memory. I can get a single 32M done at 1050MHz 8-7-6 now but still no improvement on dual 32M with this D9GTS based Ballistix kit. 3DMark 01, however, was a little more fun as seen above

Stock HPA replaced with Waterblocks (modified Bikecop de)

Influenced by Bikecop's clean design, I used similar architecture, but with EK blocks used throughout. I also added a few laboratory couplers that allow for quick maintenance of wblocks and service of mobo.

    The Process

    Mosfets

NB VR Waterblock with Compression Fitting
I removed the fitted plate from the stock HPA cooling the NB VR FETS and attached it to the bottom of an EK wblock using Arctic Silver epoxy. I used Arctic Alumina epoxy, in turn, to connect the whole assembly to the NB VR FETS (non-conductive). There was industrial epoxy affixing the plate to the Asus HPA which required sanding to remove. Using progressively finer sand paper, I smoothed the surface of the top of the block where it mates with the EK wblock, forming a wblock 'sandwich.' Previously, the only thing cooling these FETS was the Asus pipe/gas assembly -- no water. The only component wcooled by Asus' stock HPA is the northbridge, itself. The modified EK waterblock includes one 3/8" barb and one, 1/2" compression barb that runs 1/2" Tygon to the two 4870 X2s.

Vega22, thanks. Like I said, full credit for the ingenious design goes to BikeCop. I just made a few tweaks here and there. Wish that I could have used a wblock on the SB, but it obstructed the second 4870 X2.

    Stock HSA Replacement

Maybe I'm getting cynical, but seeing a 30C northbridge temp drop, from 60C at idle to 30C, floored me.

A few interior shots. (Note: I still have some tidying up to do - wire management, sensor placement, replacing two light strips, etc.):

Why did you use one 1/2" compression fitting?

Very nice temps but are you able to remove the block that's cooling the vrm's - ever?

@Mezzro...that is looking very nice. both of you guys did a great job on the NB PWM heat sink. something tells me there will be a heatsink made like that soon enough

    click for full size...

From left to right, benching SPi early on, later I went back to it with a single HD4850 but I always start with my trusty 8600GTS with no drivers installed for 32M. My withdrawl device wouldn't build pressure so getting LN2 came down to manual labour. Setting the dewar on the milk crate at an angle let me rock it rather easily while using the second crate as a sort of safety stop in case I managed to lose the balance. It worked rather well but with a couple cracked ribs and recently separated left shoulder...it was a very tough 9 hours, considering I only had a 750ml thermos cup to fill . The last photo was during tear down. There was the outer armaflex layer of insulation over what is shown here but there wasn't a drop of water in site. A good bit of frost under the shop towel but absolutely zero water anywhere...the setup could have easily gone a lot longer had more cold stuff been available. Results will be coming through shortly once I get them sorted, posted to the Bot, etc...

i took my re apart yesterday for examination/cleaning and the nb cooling arrangement is poor, theres a sandwich of plates with the heat pipe going through the middle so thats explains why the coolings poor there.
also noticed the thermal pad over the fujitsu cap still had the plastic protective film on it.
the sink over the nb mosfets was not even touching the components

Awsome work 3oh6!! looked like fun! Now we just need some influential people to fire off some persuasive E-mail to Asus HQ so that they get some RAM loving BIOS' out to us!

Indeed the bios releases are to slow for the board..

And the memory compatibility need to grow like 280%

I got 2 sets off OCZ mem's and whit these, the bios can not recognize mine QX9770 and QX6700. So i run it whit mine E6600, and its Freakin BSOD 4 time a day

    @Mezzro

Looks very good... and very nice temp

hoop some one soon show a RE WC cooling set

Thanks, Zeus. Yes, use of Arctic Alumina adhesive on that one block makes it a permanent fixture. LOL. Although, in the past, I've been able to remove heatsinks afixed using AA with some care.

The use of only one compression fitting was two fold:
    (1) It's a relatively new Bitspower product and I wanted to test it before more widely adopting it in the loop(s).
    (2) I use it there because I'm using the VR wblock to 'step up' from 3/8" ID to 1/2" ID Tygon for the VGA portion of the second loop, resulting in higher PSI. I have 1/2" ID Tygon running to and from the loop (from pump/to rad) and to cool the VGAs. I use 3/8" runs between chipsets and FETS because 1/2" gets too cluttered, kinks easily, etc.

The first loop cools only the quad core CPU. I find one designated loop for FETs/NB/VGA is more than sufficient. I have two triple rad's in the base of the case, one for each loop, plus a single rad located at the upper case rear interior (adjacent to exhaust fan). Temps on the four 4870 X2 GPU diodes is on or about 35C.

What dvd drivers are you guys using to install x64 vista. Cuse mine just won't do it. And i don't want to buy one again that doesn't do the drill
Use the drivers from the CD, then upgrade later. Upgrade the BIOS to v403. People are having mixed results with 404.

Just want to ask what coolant are you using?

i have read some where in my quest for a good DDR3 module that the reason for the poor compatibility for the DDR3 modules is because manufacturers are building their modules out of specification I ask a little so far no reply yet.
    In progress......
