You'll start pressure testing reservoirs as well now?

    You bet!...lol!

Actually I'm trying to figure out a way to measure bleeding performance too.

    I'm a testing addict...I need serious help...

The picture of the clear seems in lower quality than the blue?

Yeah, they are different pictures, one is clear the other blue UV acrylic. You can also catch the screws are tightened and turned differently between the two. As far as the copper color, it's probably just the white balance adjustment used in processing the photo, but it could be different finishing I suppose. All of the XSPC blocks I've seen are just machine finished though I thought.

I received the block already from Jab-Tech, damn they're the fastest retailer I've ever experienced. The block looks amazing, it's very smooth and machined very well. Initial impressions are great. I'll post some pictures later after the hockey game.

Hehe, I'm fully aware of one being clear and one UV blue
I just meant variation in the way and the conditions the pictures have been taken under...

But I wouldn't worry about it, internal leaks usually don't amount to much unless the block is fairly restrictive if sealed up completely. It usually means less pressure drop which means your pump produces more flow which mitigates the issue pretty well. I've done a couple of experiments around sealing different blocks up completely and most don't net any measureable gains.
Always late in the party as usual

Keep in mind that water will take the path of least resistance so most of it will flow on the expected path with probably less than 5% leaking to the other barb. 2 surfaces which is mated together offer a very tiny gap (less than the TC scandal).

anyway, It's a great looking block and I'm tempted to buy one. However, I'm currently eyeing a GTX 280 or GTX 260 card (with black PCB this time for to match my inside look) so I'll wait.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm peeved.

I bought two of these blocks.

    Both leaked.

XSPC states that they're ditching the acrylic tops for their newer blocks, and will be using Delrin. Unfortunately, no Delrin for these 9800 Raxors.

The acrylic is bad, thin, and leaks. One of the acrylic threads broke right off one of them, and on the other, one of the screw holes had a small crack which leaked.

In defense of XSPC, they have said that they plan on shipping me two new cover plates. Hope they do soon. (Wish they were Delrin though.).

I've used pretty much an entire tube of silicon on these trying to get them to stop leaking, but after 2-3 hours of flow, there is always a drip forming at one of the barbs. I've tried pipe dope, silicon, changed the barbs a few times, changed the tubing and clamps... always drips.

Drips aside... I'm running a loop with two of these together in SLI, with and D-Tek Fusion V2, through a PA 120.3. The flow is good.. very good. One of the GPU stress tests I ran on air which had me at 80C, is now showing me at 40C. I'm impressed.

Too bad they leak... as well as they perform, I have no confidence in them with the bunk acrylic tops.

I finally installed mine on my 9800gtx and after it was installed my video card didn't work. I thought I installed it perfectly and the contact with each component was perfect. We will see with my new 9800gtx that I have coming if it's a problem again. I didn't have any issues with the top or leaking though, I actually thought everything installed just great. I checked my O-ring prior to installation to make sure it was installed correctly, and it was just fine. As long as this next 9800gtx doesn't die then my satisfaction with this XSPC block will be high.

Well, I'm new to watercooling, but as I have mentioned, I have two of these in SLI, *plus* the Fuzion V2, all in one loop. The flow is still very strong.. not restrictive.

Blue, I had a problem with one of my 9800 not booting as well. I thought I borked it... After all was said and done, I think it turned out that it wasn't quite seated properly in the PCI slot (I also read some other thread about a similar issue). I also loosened the copper block a little.

Hope all works out well for you.

I tried everything to get it to work again. I like to think of myself as a hardware reviver, I rarely ever see any permanently dead equipment. I tested it on the air cooler with 3 different motherboards, 2 different psu's, I reseated it many many times initially. I really think I did everything I could. Rarely does my hardware ever die, and that's why I was surprised to see it fail with almost nothing done to it. Hard to say what really happened, it looked perfect.
