I'm not sure if this is only relevant to the beta version, but:

Windows Boot Files: The current beta release is not intended to run "boot critical" files. You cannot move the Windows, Users, or Program Files directory to MFT volumes. You can move the system pagefile to an MFT volume.
If this is the case with their program in general then it's not as useful as we might think. Personally I don't need to increase the performance of my mp3 storage drive.

hence why we changed things for ver2

MFT driver tested on mtron ssd

If transable to mlc drives, I would as a manufacturer add the driver asap with the drives.

If this is an independent review, then MFT gains are simply incredible.
However I would still avoid it for some time, it's very buggy...
Review has less than half a year, so even if they fixed the mentioned ones just after, it's still unprooved.
However, current prices are low, user base might grow quickly, which helps.
As mentioned, there's a free demo for download. Maybe sb. from XS will do some tests?

prices, just as i expected. NAND is less then 1$ per GB. These prices should be quartered at least.

I think I'll wait until the competition pushes the prices down. Let's hope it can do the same thing the 48x0 series did to NVDIDA

Not all NAND is the same, the NAND you are talking about is sufficient for a USB flash drive where you are not demanding the same kind of performance and reliability.

Just wait 6 months, by then there will be plenty of choice in the SSD market and prices will probably be even better.

What R&D? There is no way OCZ is making there own controllers. They just buy them from someone else. They slap a few chips on a board. Done. Just like their ram.

Flash found in USB USB thumb drives is less then half a doller per GB. Better quality chips cost around double that, $1 a GB.

Even if you're right, the sb. else surely has own costs, including R&D.

But not in tablets . My tablet uses a 1.8" drive, but it does have an Expresscard 54 slot... hint hint .

On another note, I really wish it were easier to buy OCZ stock. You can't even view the investor relations site from the US, Canada, Australia or Japan.
