You can have a case made of foam and it wouldn't be any hotter then a case of the same design made from aluminum. With fans keeping the sir in the case constantly moving there isn't time for heat to build up to the point where its relying on the case material to help dissipate that heat.
I think you misunderstood - We weren't trying to say that the Case Material helps in cooling components or dissipating heat or any such thing. We were just discussing the 'difference' between Steel & Aluminium (built cases) ... and while Weight was an evident difference, I wrongly had the notion that Steel heats up more/faster then Aluminum. As jimmy pointed out, that's not the case.
