I think it is for 2x1GB at 1800...

Was messing around today, and atm have a 450 FSB with 4x1GB of mem running 1800Mhz 8-7-6-18 1N with 1.80V on the memory and 1.45V on the NB
Haven't tested full stability yet and may still need small adjustments, but just passed 5 loops of the IntelBurnTest by AgentGOD

    [edit]
I've also noticed that the minimum values in the BIOS are just like the Auto setting.
Setting 1.10V for FSB, 1.25V for NB. does not fix the values, they will still change/increase as you overclock (checked with a multimeter)

I will post my setting a little later as I want to ask the question about the fsb/dram ratio, it is set to 1:2 per CPU-Z. How does one go about changing this? As I increase the FSB I do not want to overclock the memory to far.
The BIOS does not show the ratio, instead it gives DDR3 speeds. In the AI Tweaker section, depending on the FSB Strap setting in the BIOS, you will have different memory speeds to choose from under the setting "DRAM Frequency"

This board really is a tough nut to crack. Been playing around with it yesterday and running at 8x450 right now on my Q9450 and I can run 3dmark 06 and 3dmark vantage without any problems but as soon as I run memtest in windows or start up OCCT I get errors within 1 minute.

increasing Vcore does not do a thing so it must be my RAM. Also because memtest gives errors before it reaches 1% of the test.
Silly thing is that the RAM is running well below specs. I got the OCZ PC3-10666 ReaperX HPC Enhanced Bandwidth 2x2Gb kit which should be able to handle 1333Mhz 6-5-5-20 timings at 1,8v and I have it now at 1200Mhz 6-6-5-20 (2T) and it fails.

Tried to increase NB voltage but no effect. What do you guys think I should look for in solving this?

try playing around with the finer memory timings. even on auto one of them could be too tight for your ram.
also try playing with skews. there are a few ideas a couple of pages back.

I have now put everything back to default values and tested the RAM but now it's not giving errors. Wrote down the settings from memset so I can try to increase the FSB and try to get the memory stable. CPU mp is now on 6 so no stress there yet. First wanna try to get the mem stable at 450FSB and around 1333-ish memory speeds and then increase CPU mp to get to 3,6Ghz.
    thanks.

good luck. yeah the board can seem bizarre at times with its behaviour but when you get stable over 450mhz FSB its a nice feeling.

This board is really driving me crazy :S
Been trying all different settings like the ones posted here but none seem to work. Yesterday evening I could run the benchmarks at 8x450 but now I can't even find the settings to use 8x400. Windows just won't start. Only when I put everything at default settings I can get in (like now). I felt close to getting to 450FSB since I was able to do the benches but I forgot (to write down) the settings used for that so now I'm back to where I started. In between I tried 425FSB and just crank up the NB voltage but no boot. Perhaps I should try downgrading my BIOS from 0505 to 0402 or something.

BTW.. are you guys using the EPU prog that came with the board?

Nope didnt install any software. I dont really need it

BTW today I tried changing the strap from 333 to 400 and it wouldnt boot at FSB 400, then changed again to 333 and it did

I'm now at 8x399 with most options set to AUTO and it seems to work ok. Just been gaming for an hour and S-pi also ran ok. As soon as I put the FSB to 400 windows hangs just before getting to desktop (Vista x64) to see if the AUTO trick would show some more magic I raised the FSB to 451 but then it crashes just as soon as you see the windows vista logo which is right before desktop. I increased vcore to 1,40 but no effect, then increased NB voltage to 1,64 but same crash. It just seems like none of the settings I change has any effect on stability.

Eppikk perhaps you can post your settings (or are they here somewhere already?) perhaps some pics. I'm also interested in CPU and NB skew. Tony from OCZ says to keep them around 300ps (CPU) and 200pc (NB) when between 400 and 500 FSB.

what prog can i use to check the voltage settings at AUTO? Perhaps I can check and compare settings between the various auto settings.

Perhaps I should just sell my Q9450 and buy a E8600 and let it rip.

Pislink's settings worked well for me but tweaked for my own RAM of course. before that i also ciouldnt get 450MHz stable no matter what I did to Vnb.

I'll write em down but this is for dual core right? It seems a Q9450 is way harder to get a stable FSB value.

    edit:

I just tried these settings and it's the same.
When the Vista logo animation is almost done it hangs and the screen shows strange lines and a noise comes out of my headset... like a screeching sound. Then I quickly press the reset button.

    Any idea what this indicates?

When FSB reaches 450 and vNB is auto the voltage is 1.6v

MY second board was awsome, no need to adjusting cpu or nb or ram ps delays or anything, i went straight to 8x490FSB with 1.41vcore and 1.71vNB, ram at 1.91v, sb at 1.2v, FSB at 1.28v, GTL at 0.67/0.67 for cpu and 0.67 also for NB.

vcore optimizer was set for performance and ram was 1N @ 1500Mhz @ 7-7-7-20 (OCZ Platinum 1333Mhz)

That board went RMA for no reason...it just lit up the onboard yellow power led but it wouldnt boot (happened twice but the second time it did not boot, the first time i just took it out of the case and let it outside and wen i came home it was on...eh..) I had changed it with the other one cuz i found out it was revision 2

Tough my first board endured WAY higher voltages for Longer time periods, and its still pumpin' tough its hard to get it stable at 450FSB (cuz the CPU gets myghty hot, aparently my Zalman 9700 is better than the TR Ultra 120 xtreme...i need to lap it and get a second fan...even tough i have a 110CFM fan on it )

    My PLL for FSB450 24/7 is 1.6~~1.66v and for the 490FSB run i sued 1.76v (high i know )

    My hardware always comes defective

Do not be fooled by the 1.25V NB setting, even I got suckered by this one, 1.25V = Auto which is anything as high as 1.6V at 500fsb.

Be sure to measure your boards with a meter, the first setting that actually works for me is 1.27V...Asus strikes again
Got a problem with your OCZ product....?

Can anyone tell me how to downgrade the bios version on this board? I installed the 0505 but my computer became extremely unstable randomly restarting. When i had the 0401 i never had this kind of problem, it was working perfectly fine right before i installed the 0505, besides that i had to increase the cpu voltage after upgrading since it would freeze at 1.09v. I tried using the EZ flash but it tells me that the version is older and it wont let me flash it with that one. Then i used afudos and it says the same thing, that the bios is too old.

Also, may anyone tell me where to find an updated express gate. I cant find it in the asus download section.

    --------------- edit
i just read all the pages v_v' and found a way on page 21 :x , my only question left would be the express gate update, thanks

You must find AsusUpdt61001 to flash under windows and be able to downgrade your bios .

But if you can't install it , follow these instructions :

    Open Registry
(Click Start > Run... type in
    regedit
    click OK.)
In the left side of the menu, navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node

Change the name "Wow6432Node" (right-click on it and select "change name") and put a low case "a" in front of Wow so that it will become:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\aWow6432Node

    Reboot the PC.

    NOW install ASUSUpdate.

For update expressgate , go to the utilities in the asus download section !!

Would that be the same for FSB Termination Voltage and CPU PLL Voltage?
I've always set to the lowest value as I never trusted Auto...but now I am worried as I have a 45nm CPU!
    Thanks

used the flash tool from koda to switch back to 0402 and could boot into windows... even on higher FSB. Only problem was that windows would hang after 5 sec. Changed all settings back to stock but then windows would not boot anymore. Yikes.. I have now flashed the BIOS all the way back to the 1.51 and am now on 8x399. Gonna check how stable it is and if I can get higher from here.

It just shows the "ASUS Express Gate Installer V1.2.8.0 for Windows XP & 64bit XP & 32/64bit Vista" which is a whole installation and it installs on the hard drive. I cant find the .dfi image which is the one the express gate updater utility asks for.

I've always set to the lowest value as I never trusted Auto...but now I am worried as I have a 45nm CPU!
    Thanks

Hey I have the same problem, I can't find the image file to actually updated the firmware, just the HDD install files.

Anyway, I have this new awesome MOBO, 4 gigs of ocz reaper ram 1600mhz - under clocked to 1066mhz and a 4850 video card which are awesome. The problem is I have an older C2D - E6600, which is still fine, but lacks a decent FSB. What are the OC potential since I have ram that can easily hit 1800mhz, but a possible cpu bottleneck in OverClocking?

Potential future upgrades are a e8500, 620w corsair powersupply (currently 520 but not enought for crossfire with 4 hdds, OC and other stuff) and another 4850 for crossfire.

Be sure to measure your boards with a meter, the first setting that actually works for me is 1.27V...Asus strikes again

I have a good meter but have no idea how to go about measuring the various voltages on the mobo. Is there a decent guide to this somewhere?

P5E3 Premium here plus gtx260 works like a charm (As far as I remember gtx260 same size as gtx280)

Can anyone maybe send me his OC profile so I can try to load that? I can't get my system over 399FSB. I've been able to run 3dmarks at 8x450 when I just started clocking the board but I can't get these settings back in any way.
If there's anyone here with approx. these settings let me know if you are willing to send it to me. No matter what I try.. auto settings, high voltages, medium voltages etc. etc. I can't get in windows from 400FSB up. The system just hangs as soon as the Vista Logo animation starts. you'd say my cpu has a wall but I have run it at 8x450 so I guess it's capable of doing it.
Otherwise I'll just get rid of the Q9450 and get me a E8600.

    My score 3dmark2006 with my HD4850 crossfire ( 825/1100 mhz ) and QX9650 at 4400 Mhz speed :

But i still have some freeze problem when i use windows XP but not Vista ( in dualboot ) . I think that this problem is probably due to the change of motherboard ( from P5Kdeluxe to P5e3premium ) without doing a new installation of XP but only the licence number because i would have too many program to reinstall .
