This is the point of no return.
Actually I never thought about backing up.
Usually when I say "yes" or "no" it's final, no matter what.
Looking forward to getting through day 2 and hitting day 3 now on both rigs.
Everything's running fine.

It will survive a month but might degrade eventually.
How about all of you with an Asus board that have Vfsb at auto, what do you guys think you're feeding your cpu?
1.1V? Keep on dreaming.
P5K-E pushed 1.3875V at auto depending on the FSB used for example and i know the P5Q gives much 1.53V at auto.![]()

The bloody bastards don't wanna die or even degrade
Both systems still running.
As soon as I get my new E8600 chips ( should be here today or tomorrow ) I'll be setting up a few more testing rigs for this thread with E8500's.

Patience is a virtue Bill... we are on day 5 ? and like I noticed folding doesn't seem to push as hard as prime...yet it's pretty good use of cycles... maybe you can try to become the master folder here !!
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree
Yeah, folding is a tad "easier" on the CPU than prime, but it's still good enough ( Prime would give us a bit higher temps...but running all the systems in the same room, with the air condition off is already good enough)

What about that small Intel Linpack that runs around this forum , cycle it and we're going to laugh soon.

You better did it in the winter period, no need to turn up the heating then... maybe an idea when you want to bash them Qx's...
Would it be possible to see a piccie of ya setups and some temps and co... I know tomshardware did a test with an AMD and Intel rig next to oneanother with a live cam... was fun to watch which rig gave in first...
When are you visiting Belgium so we can have a few brewskis...

Ahh this will be interesting.
Best of luck!
Lots of good ideas, especially funny ones ( like a webcam deathmatch).
Really, don't know what I should do first
Linpack, folding, etc as long as it's @ Real-time priority, and 100% load they're applying approx. the same load, I selected F@H to do two things at once ( help the community, and have fun with the Vtt myth ), so I'll stay put with F@H for the time being.
If a CPU is going to die due to high Vtt it will die at some point running Prime, or F@H, or a game, etc.

That CPU maybe doesn't know but it IS going to die , no matter what, you will kill it whether it likes it or no, so it's a no win to no win situation fot it
If it survives the first Wave there will go another and so on until you will fry it and hang it on your wall. Get and burn some goddamn AMD![]()

have you tried this new Intel Burn tool...it been said that it is more intense than running Prime 95 and small fft's.

Damn tough CPU's![]()
I think this testing is faulty, as there may already be damage to the cpu but it has not shown itself yet.
LoL. Don't read the forum much?
Already did. Noticed increase of temps @ stock, previously voltages for boot @ overclock increased, blah, blah...
You can run the High VTT, but then you need to test to see what effect it has had, simply running the cpu till it dies tells nothing. Every cpu will die, given time.
Not really.
Check my next reply under your quote.
I'm not running stock.
Haven't noticed any temperature changes, no degradation ( I have my paperwork with every single CPU's stable and benchable frequencies along with the voltages used to achieve those ) [ and these notes were taken on day 1 of each chip ].
[ Edit: Didn't pay too much attention at first, mis-read your post, sorry. ]
Before switching to the next VTT step, I'll also check the CPUs with LN2 and see if they can reach the same frequencies as before the "burn in".
The air overclocks are already being checked ( since they're running at those clocks ) [ and for the ones that I'm running higher Vcores I'll drop them and check again at the end of each week ]

be sure to post your overclock that's all... hope you can get to 7.3-7.7.ghz at least off of that.
"Before switching to the next VTT step, I'll also check the CPUs with LN2 and see if they can reach the same frequencies as before the "burn in"."
i think were a little to late but i dont think we got the initial cpu and clocks they could do before this testing started to compare to anything your about to do??.any screenies of those same exact cpus your testing now on ln2\air\water and hi clocks prior to this point kinda helps ALOT if your about to re-test???i dunno...its still very interesting.
cadaveca has brought up a good point about degration and the real abilty to overclock after torturing a cpu.vs striaght punishing a cpu til it dies.2 seperate real issues, both very good tho.i dont think cadaveca meant to throw u a curveball in this thread but i am very curiuos about his concern after overclocking a cpu after hi fsb vtt has been put to it and what its still capable of doing if its not killed in the process
.
