    Hey all,
I had my Q822A435 at 4.5Ghz/1.34v last night, but saw temps hit 83c in realtemp (jumps between 68c-81c) running OCCT. I quit after 1/2hr as i think this is too high even for short runs.

I have the bolt through kit for the S1283 and an extra 120mm strapped to it, is everyone finding these as hot running as me?

Well 1st of 5x E8600 Q820A599 installed on Gigabyte EP45 Extreme with new F6H bios. VID = 1.25v and seems to be around 0.032v vdroop on Vcore under load.

I don't think realtemp 2.72 and coretemp 0.99.1 read the temp sensors that well as they don't budge much from idle to load and I have same idle and load temps at 10x333FSB 1.25v vcore as I have at 10x400FSB 1.225v vcore!

Realtemp reports TjMax of 95C and Coretemp at 105C and Everest Ultimate 4.50.1482 beta's main CPU sensor tends to agree with Realtemp.

Only sensor that really changes under load is Everest's main single CPU temp sensor but then again it's the same idle and load temps at 3333Mhz and 4000Mhz

Who said E8600 were hot buggers ?

    System:
    • E8600 Q820A599 2V8 / **5146
    • CPU Cooling: Dtek Fuzion Rad Tower Box
    • Gigabyte GA-EP45 Extreme rev 1.0 F6h bios
    • 128MB Gainward FX5200 PCI
    • 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500 dual channel kit
    • Memory cooling: 120x25mm Thermaltake 81cfm fan
    • 74GB Western Digital Raptor OS drive
    • Pioneer 215 DVD-RW
    • 1200W Silverstone OP1200
    • WinXP Pro SP2 Nlite Fully Updated.

Idle vs Load temps @4000Mhz 1.225v bios set vcore

Is the first vcore I loaded windows in to test, so haven't tried any other vcore settings yet.

    Room ambient = ~20C
Powermate Wattage Meter = 142-151 Watts under Prime95 load

    1st E8600 Q820A599 **5146 max validation = 5011Mhz at 1.552v idle realtemp/coretemp temps = 37-47C

was hoping for 32M super pi run at those clocks guess I can't have all the luck

    2nd E8600 Q820A599 **4506 up for testing next

Yeah, and how about seeing more examples of 4+ hour Prime or other with setting of such low voltage and high FSB?

I am a little unlucky... E8600 vid of 1.25 @ 4.2Ghz (10X420); Requires BIOS CPU @ 1.35v (LLC disabled; 1.312v idle; 1.296v load) in order to be Prime stable (8+ hours).

Really impressed with what many of your are getting out there!

I''ll get more on my experiences and specs put in sig as well. Apologies for now as I am getting killed at work.

Yeah, I also wouldn't be too keen much over 60+c for 24/7. I am sticking to 4.2 Ghz for 24/7 as the speed increase over stock is really great as it is. I'm sure it can go higher with necessary increases. Also, load temps for me on air reading 53-55c through Realtemp. Pretty happy about that...especially in the tropics and considering my vid.

Some other notes to build on previous post:

Hi Finn. You seem to be in the same boat as me, pretty much. I won't push too high (still using stock cooler for now until the s1283 gets here), but 1.325V to get stable in OCCT @ 4GHz isn't a great sign. VID is 1.2500, CPU week # is 20. Board is same as yours with BIOS 1201.

I NEED A BETTER COOLER, DAMMIT!

Whoa...what is your voltage idle and under load? I am running same BIOS version so maybe refer to my settings? Also have Ai clock twist set to moderate and static read disabled. I was running NB at 1.26 and had Prime fail after a couple hours...bumping to 1.28 solved that.

CPU Batch also from week 20.

At this voltage its about this 4650 -4680 , with higher voltage a 4700-4750 is possible with this boxed cooler i think but temps running high.

yes i am getting insane temps like that also. 4ghz at default vcore (the tpower sets it at 1.065) 36c idle. with xig and bolt thru. reseated a couple times and tried my ultima 90 got same. will run 4500 @ 1.2875 but temps are just way too high, like 46c idle, 74c load. bad contact with ihs? i had a couple 8400 that did this and 1 q9450 also. vid is 1.1250. q820a405 from newegg. bailed back to e8500. maybe try another in a week or 2, maybe hunt down an e0 84/8500.

Sensor problem on some E8600. RealTemp is more accurate than CoreTemp. I'm getting 8-10 C less on RealTemp than CoreTemp.
