Great job Swiftech on getting those samples out.
Great job Swiftech on getting those samples out.
I never make the list, Guess i'm not well enough known.
Are these (production samples) going to be like the standard all in one H2O120 and 220 kits that are already out?
Only with the GTX block built into them?
Is ST going to implement the GTX into the all in one kits?

Has any real information been released yet? The block isn't even on Swiftech's site yet.

please do not hesitate to call for support should any unanticipated problem arise.
Our back plate is purposedly sticky; given your activity which dictates that you change blocks very frequently, I suggest that you do not peel-off the paper protection from the adhesive foam, that way you can test with manufacturer supplied retention mechanism while retaining the flexibility of using other manufacturers' systems.

Thanks heaps gabe. Will you have an X58 plate available for when Nehalem arrives?

We certainly prefer and recommend that the product be tested as shipped. We worked real hard on this retention system. Nonetheless, there is no prior agreement here, and we cannot dictate how people will end up using the block.
Orientation of the block is absolutely specific, described in the installation guide (included with the product), which will also be online (in color) tomorrow evening.

For all block fairness, I have to at least try testing them all the same way once. But that's no reason you can't use the proprietary mount and compare those results. I think after you do enough mounts as a tester, you get pretty good and consistent though. My E6600 round I had up to a 2C delta between mounts on my fuzion V1. So far on my second round, I'm down to about .5C at my worst even with the bowed blocks ans some down to .1-.2C between three remounts.
Practice makes perfect I guess, but a good mounting mechanism is a huge advantage for folks that don't remount 50 times with 10 different blocks and that's a very nice feature that should be noted if it's pretty hard to mess up with it.
Cross post with Gabe... I think I'll just do 5 runs with my mount (as all other blocks have been tested) and then 5 with the OEM mount... will also tell me if the mount provides any benefit.

I'm looking forward for the results and I'm happy to hear who will get a sample, those are great choices![]()
