Yes, compression fittings can be made with just a lathe. Those clamps cannot be made with a lathe, only with a mill so it will cost a lot more. The cheapest option would be casting but tooling costs will be prohibitive for sure. However, I do believe making a batch of 5000 clamps would make it a bit reasonable.

I'm willing to pay 10$ per clamp since it can be reused forever if it is well built.

I have to admit they look very nice in renders.

however, the cost will be too high for tube clamps. I would rather have gold plated compression fittings for a few bucks more (if that). I also fear the threads will not withstand much abuse... rendering your ~$8/each clamps useless!

who knows.. I don't want to discourage you evil I'm just not much of an optimist. If you can make this happen at the right price they will sell like hotcakes

Those clamps can be made from extruded Aluminum and a llathe and drill press. You just have to make soft clamps for the lathe to hold the extrusion blanks a couple of shaping tools, a part off tool , set up a jig in drill press(or mill if you have one) drill, tap and counter bore. easy.............. then send out for painting-plating.

Ah, forgot about extruded bars, that indeed solve the problem. I think it's not a big problem to create a matrice with the proper shape and not too expensive.

I agree that these would sell like hotcakes, if they were available for cheap, but I'm sure there would still be a considerable market for them, even if they're quite expensive. It's not like people who water-cool their computers don't ever spend unreasonable amounts of money on stuff they don't really need... :-)

to be honest anything at the right price will sell like hotcakes. the whole point is so people wont have to buy compressions, and so people who already have existing systems fulled with fittings will not need to upgrade to compressions

I would love to have these for my systems. I hate the look of worm drive clamps, and have invested too much in fittings to replace them all with compression fittings. Good luck Evil!

Impossible to machine CF, only by molding by hand and carving

evil-98, you could make the threaded side wider to support more threads as was suggested, and when seen from above it would still be proportionate since the other side has the screw head.

i was thinking that but im trying to simplify the design to cut cost. but well see, i was thinking about using low profile screw and count sink the screw.

Evil, if you only had them made as bare alu without a screw I'd still buy them.

Really curious on what the pricing is going to look like, remember to take a small cut for yourself on the design and hassle of getting them manufactured.
