Not sure what kind of update I should get but they sure take their sweet time. I can check the status at gigabyte site but all it says is "Open". They've kind of quit responding to my mails after I cornered them about the faulty bios.

I'm heaps scared to update my Bios. I just started my holidays, and it would suck to brick my board and have a week of nothing to do

I had no troubles flashing with qflash until that release that they pulled.

    Thanks for the replies!!

Is anyone dynamically overclocking and using DES advanced at the same time? I am curious to know if it actually affects core loading at all. Best of luck to those that rma'd, hope your up and running soon. Oh and if I was on holidays, I probably would flash, just in case you have a prob, you have time to try and do something, imagine spending every week night trying a rescue.

it's hard to fathom abit will ever be a real contender moving forward since their layoffs across the board...they might release some boards which they had in the pipeline but don't expect good bios support...i think they really sealed their fate in concrete...rumors are abound and once the momentum gets rolling, it all over except for the fat lady singing!

I find it a little disturbing and also a statement on the defensive posturing of people at abit, that 'AbitUK' lashed out with a flame at Bluetooth, owner of OCWB. Bluetooth is a great guy and very well connected. I'd trust him much quicker than 'AbitUK', he seems like yet another in a long line of abit yes men.

denial within the organization is very evident!...when my airline company was going down the tubes, i wanted to believe it was going to dig itself out of the hole...my wife could see it because she was set back from making that company work!...she was able to collect all the data and analyze it objectively...i was just to close to the inner core to believe it was going down the tubes!

Hows this Motherboard and Watercooling? Any Waterblocks for the NB and also the any restrictions with Backplates for CPU waterblocks/heatsinks.

Im looking to use Gskill 4 GB DDR3-1600 @ 7-7-7-18 (I see OP has this kit) and my QX9650 clocked to round 4.2 or higher (I have this on my 780i right now)
Is a 450 FSB Ok on this board and does it work with 1800 mhz ram? I see alot of G skill's oc'd to 1800 with no problems at 7-7-7-18-1T (1.9 volts)

The F6a bios is available through the official gigabyte forum at tweektown. I just flashed the same bios as zoolio, worked fine. Will see if it clocks higher and give DES advanced a run whilst overclocking. All they need now is a better CIA2.

if you mean 450 FSB using a 9 multi that should be no problem.

i had GSkill DDR3-1600 memory and about the highest was around 173x speed...i didn't want to use over 2.0v for Vdimm...i think i tried 2.05 but it didn't allow me to go any higher so i retreated to max of 2.0v...probably my sticks were not creme of la creme!

Still can't find it. A search for f6a reveals nothing. Can you post a link?
