RealTemp 2.70 is available for download. It looks like Ovidiu's post above.

It's more efficient than the last version and has a few more features like proper core reporting based on APIC ID for the Quad processors, the reporting of both Minimum and Maximum VID as well as a high temperature alarm feature and the ability to save the log file in .csv format so it can be directly imported into Excel for analysis.

Here's a 9 hour run of RealTemp and it's competition with both minimized to the SystemTray. The CPU Usage Time speaks for itself.



If you double left click on RealTemp you'll get a nice small window with just the basics. Perfect addition to a screen shot.



Back on topic. Here's the Intel sSpec numbers you should be looking for if you are trying to get a new E0 stepping CPU. This number is on the outside of the box if you have your hands on one or can find a retailer willing to have a look.
