Well that's why I stated that many users in here are not so extreme... as soon as you OC you are running out of spec and things aren't guaranteed... mobo/CPU/ram wise...

I only had one badly degraded Qx9650... prolly due too much CPU VTT on the 780i... never had it afterwards... if you read my post correctly many users push things on the stock cooler ( and there are many many or eg on a Freezer Pro)... temps readouts are so irregular on 45nm, some CPU's are smoking hot, some seem to be cold as ice... the general user will not be able to make anything out of it...

For some it's better to stick at 1.4volts, the benchers and co will not mind to push 1.6 on air or water and even more on extreme coolings... the crowd can take it anyway they want...I rather warn them of the consequences then to be ed upon later that they lost their overclock and have to settle for less...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    LMAO!

yaaaa most OCers have enough dead parts to build like 10 computers or so haha ... and those are the new OCers :P

haha it shouldnt be like that, rather the opposite, when you're fresh in OC, your a coward, when you been doin this for a while you're pushing it more and more..

and it doesnt get dead parts unless you physically do something to your hardware, or voltmod, stuff like that, raising the vcore a bit over spec doesnt kill it in no way..
they have to set a limit somewhere, ofcourse they know that these bastards are clocking as hell now, and letting us use that much vcore, maybe they just wont let us?
i mean, most of us are getting a 8400-500 , and than clocking it up to, yeah a lot! instead of buying the most expensive ones etc.

i dont know how they have come to this "max" vcore allowed thing, how much the lifespan are shortened or so ... but i want to know what their calculations of a normal cpu's lifespan, is it bound to live like 20 years? and then if you put little more than 1.40, then it wont last that long I DONT KNOW, but it has to be something like this, i dont get it if not... some one know something about this? omg, im so OT i cant imagine....sry.

    cheers.

Just got a new E8500 and my load temps at stock ar Core0 35c core1 50c my VID seems low which may be good 1.1625v(Q817A319)

    Has anyone else experienced this?

idle temps are 0-26 1-42 Bad mount or funct sensors?

i have same batch and same issue but opposite core 0 is much higher than core 1 if you stress both of them though you should see they are the same temps or close
upgrading...cooler master cm690 case, corsair hx850, samsung 1tb x 3, optiarc burners x2, gskill 4gb ripjaws, working on the rest again

I seem to be getting 45-50c idle temps at 1.264 - 1.28v at 4037mhz on my E8500 and get 60-65c at full load after 6+ hours orthos - tried for 4.25ghz up to 1.365v but it wasn't stable then

I'm not sure if I got a hot chip or if my TRUE just isn't getting good contact - I'm thinking about testing my Ninja which i know gets good contact - worried that this TRUE isn't living up to what it should be - i mean its ok but nothing crazy low at all

just got an Asus P5K Deluxe (flashed with Premium bios) to play around with and it seems i need a little more voltage to run at 500mhz fsb - but only the 1.28v post above

I need to hang out here moar then the other forum i frequent - more OC'ers and people with the experience - there i feel like a semi guru and here i feel like the newb i really am

The original poster seems to have disappeared, and I was quite liking the way the FPO/batch numbers and clocks were laid out on the first page.

Can anyone make some sort of web form and database to automatically submit and view it? Or I'm willing to start another thread and just resume the OPs work....except I would like to include VID

Well I guess I can join the club. Just went back to Intel. Glad I did. My last intel chip was a PII 350Mhz

    It's been a while

It's not. Wolfdale + P45 chipset are killer combination and almost every Wolfdale goes at least 600MHz FSB on air. I had one with 530MHz FSB wall but I'll see how it changes under LN2

Funny you say that, I remember the good ol' DFI & Opty 146 days. I bought my first DFI board upon the constant hammering in Aus pc mags saying how they overclock so well. I bought one, overclocking was great then the board died. My RMA was denied because I overclocked the motherboard and that voided the warranty. From then on I learned not to be so honest if something dies. Tell them what they need to hear...

    Love the Xs forums btw.

ofcourse you cant tell the retailer that you have OC the stuff

but its kinda stupid anyway, why make a board that OC the stuff like hell, but they wont support it... so freakin dumb

I update the list periodically, last update was yesterday the 30th of July, list is always available at :

    wolfdaleOClist.xls

If a mod gives me the power to edit the first post or add my OC list there... the OP minuderstood my demand and added the list there in a full post instead of providing a link there...as soon as E8600 pops up I will add them too...

Yeah sometimes it's better to clean up everything nicely or even leave some dust on the original heatsink and RMA the board... in fact you should have gone to court as they included options to overvolt everything lol... I got a similar response from intel on the question why my QX CPU didn't run stable at VID voltages... they said it was forbidden to OC it and everything had to be done on the boxed cooler...plain lol

imo then i would say you have a issue. i would start with the heatsink and then move from there..15c under load difference is not goo. could be you have a stuck sensor but normally unless they are permently stuck they usually go to about the same as each other under load.

a link of what? It's all custom and I don't have any pictures of it currently, also it's all ghetto and laying just everywhere around my case. Need to do a proper build of it.
