I only bought it as a temporary board to test all the other hardware (b-grade, under £50), waiting on the SB750 boards for the final build+OS install.

    oooh, exciting.

    SupoX has quite interesting layout:

Obviously they've placed NB and SB next to each other! Mybe that'll yield some better OC'ong capabilities due to shorter traces?

ECS is on this planet to make cheap motherboards and options cost money.

They have had "high end" boards in the past which came in shiny shiny boxes but were still low quality parts. I have no issue with ECS if you want bargin basement, but I would not trust them to make a product where quality control mattered.

I'm not one to usually care about a motherboards look, but that's quite the ugly board. :p Has a kind of old-school look about it.

I had to do the same thing and put a small fan (from an old vga cooler)
on the NB. This one looks a bit like it got assembled from the 3-4 other
motherboards. As long as perf. is good - they still make cases without
    side windows

Is it just me or has the CPU socket and RAM slots been pushed very close together and very close to the right hand side of the board? I'm assuming this is to make way for the integrated GFX but it might cause issues with large CPU heatsinks and RAM.
    It's umm....not extreme.

All AMD boards have the DIMMs and the CPU slot close together...
Seems we made our greatest error when we named it at the start

To come back at ECS's RS780D board, I actually think it doesnt look bad.

    Over-Clocking
Maximizes your system performance by selecting from these overclocking options
    (1) Flexible CPU/DDR core voltage adjustments
    (2) Adjustable FSB/DDR ratio
Although it's still questionable by how much you can change it and as well with what steps. And most importantly, if they stick to only these options since they didnt list the multipliers but well. And their previous 780G black series show the same OC options too so... I hope it's better though because I actually like the looks and would like to try out ECS.

    Also it supports 140W TDP...

And keep in mind the current 780G chipsets are meant for value/mainstream users and thus the lack of OC options sounds pretty much reasonable.

Ha-ha, yeah, that’s right! But they are all for testing and debugging purposes only. I have seen an AM3 black board with SB800, it looks rather attractive! BTW, if you look at the photo of that ECS black board once again you will see that it uses an AMD reference board design.

What is the pricing going to be on these 790GX boards? Hopefully these will slide in at the ~$100 price point because right now to get a decent board capable of handling an overclocked Phenom requires you to spend $150+.

Are these boards going to have a solid PWM section? I know after my experience with a 770 board that is something extremely important when it comes to overclocking Phenoms.
