You'd best rule out your mem first by running memtest, instable or broken memory often cause BSOD's.

    Good luck finding the culprit.

Leeghoofd, did you happen to see my posts? I just need some help figuring out if I have a defective board or not so that way I can return it within the return window (which ends very soon; possibly today, I may have to check >.<)

Have you tried updating to a newer bios ?
The sound is okay now according one of your posts, so it must have been a driver issue as hardare probs don't go away all of the sudden...

For ya vidcard fading issue, which graphics card are we talking about ? which game ? do you have issues in other games too ? seems again driver/game related...

I'm no wizard, I just analyze and try to think logic, don't shoot me if it turns out to be ya mobo... but you had issues too with the E and ya ram, did you try a newer bios on that board ? or did you run it out of the box ?

Plz list all ya hardware and drivers so we all can have a look at it...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    E3110 Question

    Guys,

I need some feedback from you folks.

    I am using BIOS 1102 Beta + P5Q Deluxe + E3110.

I know I got unlucky with my processor, the VID=1.225.

At 7.5 x 500 (3.75Ghz) I can run prime stable 24hrs blend and small fft's while using 1.350V CPU Vcore set in bios, CPU-Z shows 1.338 idle and load.

Temps are 36 idle and 58 load with Sunbeamtech Core Contact Freezer in a Stacker 830 Evo case with 8 120mm fans (good air flow).

I can get to 8.0 x 500 (4.0Ghz, which is what I want) and prime stable 24hrs blend and small fft's but must use 1.4125V CPU Vcore set in bios, CPU-Z shows 1.392 idle and 1.400 load with temps at 39 idle and 63 load.

I do not use my machine 24/7 for like folding, just game on it at nights and music/internet sometimes. Sits idle quite a bit.

Here is my question ... since this is a 45nm CPU is 1.4V and 63 temps at load safe or should I bump it back down to 1.350 with 250mhz loss?

    Input is appreciated.

    Thanks

    Abraxas

    Thanks.

I will just use the closest setting on the 333 divider my ram will run at.

I will post back tommorow and let you know how it is going.

Only thing I would look into are ya temps... hows does the Zalman cope with ya CPU ? what voltages does ya CPU require for eg for 200mhz less ? so 8 x 400 ? or even 10 x 333 ? If the cores go over 60°C I would consider a beefier cooler there... could be you need less voltages then for 12 hour stability...

And to be honest, I never run Prime Small over 6 hours or so... then I run an OCCT 2 hour, first CPU then Ram and finally mix in a row... some 3dmarks and finally 4 superpi 32mb runs at the same time... till now no weird erratic behaviour with none of my CPU's...

Something I have been thinking about today is if I should go down to 10x333. Some weeks ago before I knew how to set most of my voltages I had 10x333 stable with most voltages on auto at 1.38vcore vs what I now need 1.41vcore for 8x425. I went ahead and fired it up(10x333) using 1.375vcore/1.56PLL and 1.24NB/1.28VTT with LLC enabled. Only had this running for about 30mins but the temps are not that different vs 1.41, only about a 2C drop. On small fft's test's my temps get up to 57C for 1.37 and 59C for 1.41 on the hottest cores. For me it will be a decision of how well my memory can perform at each FSBxMulti. For 333fsb I can run my memory at 1111mhz 3:5 and for 425fsb I can run at 1133mhz 3:4 both at 1.9v maybe lower. I think the extra heat from more vcore is not that bad but I would like to go from Static Read control disabled to enabled and possibly using the MemOC charger plus maybe setting the AI Clock twister and transaction booster to really push my memory at 1133mhz, but first I need to learn these settings better. What would you do, I really want to run faster then 3.2ghz and I would like to push my memory to it's limit. I now know about where I need to be in terms of voltage for my CPU it is only a matter of choosing best combo for my memory Thanks

Edit: After thinking about it I think I am going to leave it at 8x425 and try some new settings for my ram. I looked through some other posts and thing I want to try...
    5-5-5-15, trfc 55 and 1.9v
DRAM Static Read Control: Enabled(currently disabled)
    DRAM Read Training: Auto
    Mem OC Charger: Enabled(Currently Auto)
Ai Clock Twister: Strong or Stonger(Currently Auto)
    Ai Transaction Booster: Auto
I guess I will try to get it to pass here with memtest86 and then try to pass 2 hour OCCT ram test. I just want to boost my performance since at my current settings my system is stable and I would like to see if I can push my ram a bit harder.

However even a small over clock on my q6600 G0 (2.8 was the lowest I was having instability at) the OS behaves strangely and games will freeze and require a hard reboot. Could I be having difficulties with Vista 64 and stability testing?

The sound seems to be mostly ok, although I sometimes get some pops/clicks in Teamspeak while playing a game. I think the vidcard issue may be driver-related although I'm not sure. I noticed I can reliably induce the effect when pushing under the ground in spectate mode in some HL2 mod maps where there is white under the ground. I guess it's basically a blind/HDR effect that I'm seeing.

Thanks for the input Spajdr, but I found out what was wrong. My psu had to be mounted upside down for the mrc320 to fit off the back of my case and it was causing the psu to overheat under a over clocked full load. So I've got a larger case on order now and I am running at 3.2 @ 1.4v.

Is 25MB/s burst rate in Nero DiscSpeed normal? I get 40MB/s on ICH9 motherboard. I tried all possible UDMA modes, I have SATA set to IDE, I checked Device Manager, DMA is enabled and it is set to UDMA5. I even tried SATA drivers, but I guess they are for that orange SATA7/8, my drives are on SATA4/5.
Hard drive burst is ok, just DVD-RW burst is too low (on both drives).

I have better stability with loadline calibration enabled.

it does more then lower vdroop, it inverts it.

it also might give you a false sense of "im only running 1.3v!"

    yes.
the CPU will need the same voltage under full load weather LLC is enabled or not. 1.3v with LLC enabled is more like 1.4v in reality (LLC disabled).
so yes, it would seem to as tho it magicly gives stability

voltage being inverted, LLC enabled can also leave you unstable during idle and low load conditions.

    Leeghoofd,

New symptom. Getting static in the sound until I restarted, on just about everything.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I'm using the digital output to an external d/a converter.

Does anyone know what the latest version of Prime95 and OCCT are. I have Prime95 25.6 and OCCT 2.0.0a. I also wanted to get SuperPi but I have vista64 and am not sure if any versions are compatible, if there is a version for vista64 please give me link to where I can download it from. Thanks
