Guys, I'm having ethernet issues with Port 1, Each time I plugin the Ethernet cord into Port 1, It will instantly BSoD in Windows XP SP3. But It runs fine in Vista SP1. I've tried different drivers and such. I'm currently running bios 0901, if anyone could help me.

tek has me thinking that it's my memory that's holding me back from reaching the 4+Ghz plateau. Starting to consider these puppies:
    Corsair XMS3 Dominator TW3X2G2000C9DFNV 2GB DDR3 2X1GB DDR3-2000
Problem so far is freezing or hard lock when gaming mostly..funny part is it passes OCCT and Prime95 no problem.

Price on that kit is a bit steep but damn if they don't make me kinda drool...letting the thought marinade in my brain for now...ma doesn't need that kidney for now, I don't think..cha ching!

It seems to me that your CPU voltage is bit high, specialy because you are on air.... knowing this board overvolts, 1.375v with LLC enabled should give real 1.40v~1.42v i´snt that to much???

Finally got my three Zotac 280 Amps up and running water cooled. I changed the EK blocks for Danger Den Tietons with copper backplates. Currently stress testing each card individually. I have the first card ar 768 Core, 1577 shader and 1400MHz memory. No atrifacts or problems playing Crysis or running 3DMark Vantage. Temperature on card is max. 54C under load. Amazing!!

I have ditched the EVGA board and gone back to Asus.

Strangely the one I've just received has the 0402 bios, just like the first one. Seems Ok though. Power supply should be here tomorrow.
Toughpower 1500W has been RMA'd - it stopped working and kept tripping the mains supply.

GPU's are swimming here as well, don't regret it either. Used to be @ 70-80 max load on stock. Now they're @ 45C max load, gotta be a good thing when the temp drops by 20C+.
Tyke: Any particular reason you went with Zotac? Just curious if they perform well enough as the bigger name brands, (ie; EVGA or XFX etc..). Considering a GPU upgrade soon hence the inquiry.

Those temps loook awsome, I'm hoping to get my 9800GTX under water soon. 17.2k 3dmark06 so far, maybe a volt mod and Water will help me get closer to my 20K dream.

I'm using the 1800 MHZ Corsair Dominators, and they are able to hit 2000 unlinked (FSB1800). That could be a memory option for you as well.

I was considering that as well. Kinda had to sit back and have a serious reality check, in the end will I seriously NEED that sort of kit on a performance standpoint...1800 vs 2000, how much of a gain would that be in essence, not THAT much to brag about I don't think. It feels more like a money grab if anything.

Thanks for the input, more food for thought is always welcome.

CPUZ is reporting 1.344 so IDK. Temps are good though for air. The max that I hit after a 10 hour priming session was 56C reported by realtemp. This is outside the case though. Once I put it inside the case, temps will be defintely higher(probably high 70s) since my cae has very poor air flow, not a good case for air cooling(V2110B). But I might put my E3110 on the s2e and might go with the rampage extreme and dual 4870x2 or TRI SLI GTX 280 with the P5N64 with a raid card all under water.I have a lot of to decide. In short, my QX9650 will not be on the S2E for long.

Maybe the Striker II is not in big demand over there. Also, you mean you are going to get your PC P&C tomorrow? How long did that take? 2 days? O_o!

I thinkj the Striker sells very well here, the last two I have had were installed with 0602 bios, this one had 0402! It seems stable though at myb old overclocked settings (sure glad I remembered to save my bios settings to a file!!)

Power supply was ordered on Friday, UPS tracking says it arrived in the UK last night and it has been confirmed for delivery today!

I went with Zotac because the Amp! Edition has the highest core clock of any released GTX 280 card at 700MHz. I think the overclock I have achieved suggests it was a good choice. As all the cards are NVidia reference, the only difference between them is the quality of the chips on the cards, and the warranty. As I am invalidating the warranty by water cooling, then only the chip speed is important. Also the Zotac Amp! Edition is cheaper here in the UK than the stock EVGA card!!

    Hi Tyke!
I´m about to submerge my two 280GTX. I had looked at the EK waterblocks, but then i noticed that you changed to DD Tieton. Is it only due to the copper backplate or just that they are better in general?

    Cheers

Tekjunkie i think you cannot trust at ALL on the voltages that show up in CPU_Z because they are VERY undervolted. I think the most acurate read you can do, without mesure directly on the board of course, is reading the voltage in BIOS. Can you give a try and see what voltage is reading?

No it was not just for the backplate, as EK now have a backplate also. I just think the DD is a better design, easier to fit and a better contact with the card. EK look a lot rougher finish on the copper, and of course the backplate is aluminium as against copper for the DD. I did actually fit the EK blocks, now I have replaced them with DD.

Hmm... intresting. I had the DD waterblocks for my 8800GTX and they where just perfect. I´ll think that i go for the DD with the copper backplate. Do you have any pics of your new assembly? There is no pics on the copper backplate on the DD site... unfortunatly.

Oh and does the new BIOS(1002) version work well for you?

And many thanks for helping me choose

    Cheers

The last pic shows the difference in the coverage of the copper block between the DD and the EK blocks.

The new bios is working great for me.

Again thanks for the very fine pics (you must have a really nice cam). Yep and it will be two new DD blocks for me. I´ll also flash to the 1002 BIOS.

    Many thanks for your help

Hi all....been following this thread for quite some time (many months)....haven't contributed much at all....sorry. Every time I think I have some stable settings to share, prime fails or something else....so I've just been lurking.

@Tyke....are the voltages in your sig current/accurate? If not could you please share your 450 x 9 settings....including RAM timings?

The best I can do (no more than 10 hours prime stable) is 400 x 9 with E3110 and OCZ 1600 EB 2 x 2 @ advertised timings....the CPU will do 450 x 9 if I keep the RAM at 1600...I guess I was hoping for more from the RAM. I can't seem to find the Mushkin RAM (you linked to a review a few pages back) available anywhere except from them.

Anyway, thanks all for keeping this thread active.

Hi there. Yes my settings are still current as per my sig. They have worked with the last three bios releases, and with three different boards.

Everest is reporting 1.42V which is the same as the BIOS. As for the temperature , this is what I get after 10 hours of OCCT.

    Thanks Tyke.

Just to make sure, are those voltages what you set in BIOS, or what you measured with a multimeter? The reason I ask is my board overvolts vcore and memory....I can't remember if it overvolts SPP and MCP.
