Nice one, I am in 11th place & I have not even pushed my CPU hard yet. Still need some tips on clocking the M2N32-SLI motherboard. I am very new to all this.

You need to find out what is stopping you. You should start by ruling out your ram by downclocking it Nice oc BTW, with the "old" chipset, proves that the sb600 - "sb750 chipset is gonna save us" thing is pretty overhyped IMO

On the other hand, as I posted in the SB750 thread about macci running 9600BE on SB750...

    Thank you LIKMARK,

From what I have seen others do I am going to try and up my ram voltage up a bit and try and push the bus a little and keep the CPU multiplier at x 15. I am running my PC at the stock multiplier speed of x 12.5 with a bus speed of 210 Hz giving me a top speed of 2.625 GHz with no problems. I have it set like this when I am not playing with the PC as I use it as a media hub for streaming TV and films to my Xbox 360. My PC is in my front room and I use SpeedFan to control all my fans. With these sittings I can run all my fans at 25%, so the only noise you here is from the hard drives. I also use my PC to convert hi-def movie files to HD-WMV which use to take a day on my old setup & is now only taking about 4 to 6 hours.

If I can get the CPU to run at x 15 at 210 this would bring me up to 3.150 GHz, this I would be happy with if I can get it to work

Yes.. I am not arguing that sb750 won't bring better stability and thereby higher clocks to some degree. As for the example you posted of Macci, I believe it is more due to his knowledge and competence paired with a good chip rather than sb750 in itself. It would be nice to see how far he could make the same chip clock on a sb600 or nf590/nf780a.

That would eb a good way to see if it is just a kick ass chip.. I getting a SB750 board as soon as it hits the egg.. I will use the same chip i have and see how much btter it does. I am looking forward.... that was a nice clock on a 9600...

hey you got my old 9550 that reach 2.3 wouldn't get stable at 2.4ghz

I've had 9850 for two months now

    being in 64bit vista

2.8ghz is all I get I need full 1.55 vcore for it though

chip won't boot at 2.9ghz ever.

batch numbers in signature isn't a good one

If I can get 3GHz out of my 9850 post-SB600, I'll be happy at last. That was what I wanted when I bought the thing.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

I have the same batch number, 2.8 at stock vcore, I can run 3.0 at 1.55

3,2GHz 3dmark06 stable (didn't try anything else than that and 3dmark01, which is passed also) at 1,35V (32-bit). Phenom 9950BE. Don't know the batch (CPU already fitted in computer). Is it visible on the box somewhere?

You really should add a column for if the user is stable at 32-bit or 64-bit since it makes such a large difference on K10.
