    well for some reason temps have settled out higher. i turned off orthos for now to check idle temps and they are now resting at 5c higher than they were before at idle??? i dont like this cooler imo
    upgrading...cooler master cm690 case, corsair hx850, samsung 1tb x 3, optiarc burners x2, gskill 4gb ripjaws, working on the rest again

    Load temps are all that count man. Of course you first got lower temps at idle... you just turned on the PC, CPU was cool. Then you loaded it up and of course it couldn't drop to the same temp anymore.

    still idling now at 37-38 core 1 and 44-47 core 0 which used to be 42-45 core 1 and 49-52 or higher core 0 so yeah helped a lot id say and this is with one fan remember

    I'm gonna go to work on mine. It's the second time i'm taking it all apart today I hope it's the last and i see noticeable results!!!!!!!

    what i did was bend up the small metal tabs on the bottom two fins above the nb sink so they were straight out and i also took the corners on that side and carefully bent each upward just a bit starting at the top and working all the way down this way it was just barely touching the nb sink. when i first tried it it was really tight on the nb sink when i tightned it down..

    so for a 4.2 overclock is a max temp of 67c decent so far thats the highest ive seen so far from orthos that was on test 2 8k running blend first test passed fine and this is with 1.32x volts on the cpu

    looks like its settled on 37 core 1 and 45 core 0 idle temps.. not bad from where it was and i still have a nb fan to add a second heatsink fan and another 3 case fans on my 690!! that should help out some
