I've used LLC from day one on this board as well as other Asus boards and it seems to work without a hitch.

Some have no problems with it enabled, but I did. The PC would freeze on idle sometimes (very rare) or it would restart while surfing internet (also rare) so I thought it might have been LLC.

It took me an age to fit all four shrouds to this beast, what a tight fit!! Blew up my board being stupid, so my 4th S2E will be here on Monday. Testing the EVGA 790i at the moment, doesn't appear to overclock as well as the Asus, but I need to check my bios settings. I have ordered a PC Power & Cooling 1200W single rail power supply from the States with custom cables, so now I will have the ultimate power supply. Also I didn't test my three graphics cards before putting the water blocks on, and one appears to be faullty so goodbye to a refund on that, have ordered a replacement card.

Tyke, just wondering what made u upgrade your PSU from the Toughpower 1200watt? (I have the same PSU). Its crossed my mind that my crashing issues are very similar to power issues, but i kinda ruled that out because the toughpower is pretty beefy. Also, where did u get the PCP&C - didnt realise u could get custom cables with them. Would be interested for future reference. Let us know how u get on with it.

Oh, and btw... always worth giving an RMA a go. Water leaked from a dodgy seal on my MCW30 all over my old GX2. cleaned it up a bit, but the cooler back on and sent it back to BFG - they replaced it in 2 days!

With three cards I was bothered about splitting the third card between two rails. In general a single rail supply is considered to be better, and I found that my system was pushing up to 80A on the 12V rail. Also if you read up, modiular supplies in general have problems. I just think the Turbo Cool is a cut above everything else (just read the reviews), but the upgraded version with 100A on the 12V line is not available in the UK. I ordered mine direct from the PC Power & Cooling website. I just asked for 8 pin connectors instead of 6+2, and they did it. You can pretty much tell them what you want and they will do it.

I´m about to buy 4x1GB sticks of OCZ PC3-12800 Platinium enhanced 7-6-6-24, since i really want to have 4GB and this is a good deal for me...
Can someone tell by their experience how this will work with this motherboard?
I´ve heard and read of people having a lot of problems with OCZ ram and this board... Is that solved with the new bios revisions?

Thanks in advance for any help....

Very interesting... I know how good PCP&C are meant to be, but never ended up with one partly due to cost, and partly availability. I will check this out, as i may actually consider one in the future. Like you say, i would generally prefer a single more powerful 12v rail than multiple less powerful ones!

Really? as long as you tell me you didnt screw it too far (to prevent damage) and they fit, it should be good.

So you also went from 1500watts to 1200watts, Hmmm. What about the Tagan 1300 Watts? I think it looks really cool, any bad thing with this one?

I would like to know this too
Even though you are not using 8gbs, you are stressing the 4 dimms so even with 4gbs, it might have an impact on oc.

I got my QX9650 stable on the S2E with the OCZ DDR3-2000 running @1780 8-8-8-24, but my OCZ DDR3-1600 EB is a no go @ 1780 even with 2v vDIMM(rest of the settings same). I guess I would have to sell my EB sticks and get 1 more of the OCZ DDR3-2000 for 8GB.

From my reading up on power supplies people usually agree that a single rail is the best. The Turbo Cool 1200W has a peak handling of 1400W so I should be OK, but it also has 100A on the 12V rail. Also modular supplies might be more convenient but they have issues, better just to customise the cables you want. I have a Tagan BZ1100 that I use on my HTPC, it is a beautifully built piece of kit, with screw-in connectors.
I am still playing with the EVGA 790i. So far I have not been able to get it to 9 X 450 as I did with the Asus. Also it doesn't let my memory run at 1T at stock speeds like the Asus board.
I like the fact that GTL_REF voltage can be read in the bios, as far as I know you can't get this from the Asus. I might get my new S2E out of the box soon.
    Regards

    Are you linked and sinked?

Yesterday i have played a litle with them and was able to run @1750 8-8-8-24 with 1.9v vDIMM real ( 1.86v set in BIOS) with no problem at all, but.... unlinked and unsinked.
I have not done any major stability tests yet like prime95 i will do that today when i get home.

Thx for this PMP!!, I have been having some weird and inconsistent sleep issues as of late. Thought it all had to do with the nvidia network teaming driver but now I'm not so sure.

I,ve just bought another pair of ram sticks.....

    CSX DIABLO PC3-16000 2x2GB ...

I think they will be very capable on this board ,they can run @2000 8-7-6-18 and they have Micron D9 GTR chips...
I will receive them in 3 or 4 days and i will keep you informed of my progress with them...

Thanks PMP for the new BIOS!

Hmm yah, so far I have alot of issues with 4 x 2GB OCZ 7-6-6-24 1600mhz RAM, however 2 x 2GB OCZ 7-6-6-24 1600mhz with 9-9-9-26-2T timings run fine at 1815mhz linked and synced ( I think I can do 8-8-8-25-2T with some subtiming tweaks and GTL tweaks )

    I would suggest 2 x 2GB over 4 x 1GB but if you got a cheap deal ....

    Interested in results ofc :p

Interesting... mind posting those GTLs (just in case)

Well yes, Im glad I went for the Corsair 750 Single Rail.
However, there is this thing called Turbo Mode on the Tagan PSUs, does it really work? Is it worth it?

This one supports E5200 CPU, fixes some S3 problems, includes S3/S4 features.
So this might include the fix for sleeping ethernet ports as well as 1394 ports. Finally on the 1x0x series Thx pmp

Come back when you get results

Yes, I am linked and synced. I will post the BIOS screen shot when I get home. I am also thinking about going P5N64 route for GTX 280 tri SLI and go WC AND a raid controller for the OCZ SSDs that am planning to buy. The problme is that there are no decent reviews for that board.
