Very pleased with the voltages and the stability of this board. Older lot # on the CPU called for higher voltages but it's rock solid and very snappy on this board.![]()

any suggestions?

Dude, you need to shorten that sig, seriously. its way to big.
Anyway, E8400 has been fine, i noticed that after long-term usage, you can eventually lower the CPU FSB down, which i have at 1.2v now, when in the beginning it desperately wanted 1.4v CPU FSB (VTT) to stay stable.
Im happy.![]()

Does anyone know what sound drivers are used in Windows XP SP3? I have a 780i and the nForce drivers don't install sound drivers and I can't find anything for Realtek. Help!
If you didnt get the disc I'm sure you could go to realtek's website and get the drivers.
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false
Then you should start looking around at manufactures website. What manufacturer do you have?

I have an evga 780i reference board. Does anyone know which specific driver is used on the evga 780i reference board?
On my Vista x64 I'm using v1.85 audio driver but I noticed that both XP and Vista lists v1.92 as the current Audio driver.

yeah... that's not the way it supposed to flash. My inexperienced opinion is that you might not have burned to disc properly. Maybe try floppy if you have one.
It was very detailed in bios for me. It showed the progress and said bios update successful at the end.

Booting by CDROM disc it should come up with AWDFLASH screen with file to load already filed in the file to load. Hit return. You should see bios checksum verify, erasing blocks and programing block by visual pictures.no I try with disc, by windows.. failed..
i dont see any msg like Updates successful...
when i try by disc.. and i press F1 to reboot i see very very very fast a green imagem and reboot again...
i dont know what i do
thank you
On a side note I think the only reason they say load defaults is so that you aren't flashing on an unstable system.

Hello,
may be problems with my single XFX 8800gts (stock cooled) if I put an EK-SB6 waterblock on the mcp of my XFX 780i?
Thanks in advance![]()

LOL... sorry for my *perfect* Enghlish!!!
I will try to rephrase the question.
I'd like to put an EK-SB6 waterblocks on my XFX 780i southbridge... so, reading the EK compatibility list the wb is reported as compatible.
Now, my question is... there may be problems to plug the tube on the ek connectors since my vga (xfx 8800gts 512) has a 2 slot stock-cooler?
Hope that now, my question is clear!
Thanks in advance!!![]()

I flashed to P06, seems to work well.
I still have a FSB wall right around 475FSB that I can't seem to overcome. Anyone have any suggestions on that?
I'm quite sure I can break 4.5GHz easily if I can get that issue taken care of. I'm not quite ready to give up SLI yet
thanks

anyone hitting 500fsb (2000qdr) with any of the new bios images? i'm running p05p and am stable at 475*8, but I can't even get the system to post at 500. wondering if i'm not putting enough voltage through it or if i don't have something set correct, or of course, the board just won't do it. would be nice to run 500 1:1.

Hello you all,
It seems like I cant get my Q6600 G0 over 3.0GHZ stable. My rig looks like this:
Q6600 G0
780i
2x2GB Mushkin 8500 (996599)
280GTX
850W thermaltake toughpower
Zalman 9700
I didnt do vdroop mod yet. I'd like to get my CPU to 3.4 prime stable 24/7, but it seems like it can't be done.
I tried about everything for a stable 3.2.
Max Voltages I used for 3.2ghz were:
Vcore 1.425
FSB 1.4
SPP 1.45
MCP 1.525
Rest on Auto
It didnt get stable. Always prime errors after an hour or so. I tried 8x400, QDR = 1600, 9x355 .. I thought maybe it's an FSB hole. So I went for 9x400, didnt work either. I also tried to run the RAM linked and synched. unlinked 1066 didnt work either. Not stable.
I read on the other thread that users with 4gb of ram should put 1.5V on the SPP (NB).. I am afraid of this because it's already highlighted in red. I'll need this computer for another 2 years or so. Do you think NB voltage could play a role?
Settings for stable 3GHZ:
QDR= 1333
Vcore = 1.250
Rest on Auto
Temps Load small FFS on prime95: 55 55 49 49 in Coretemp.
8x400 = 3.2ghz, ram at 800.. vcore 1.375 in bios, get's prime error after about 1.5h.
What am I missing here? I'd love to push my system a little further.
Thanks,
Simon
