Seeing those pictures it seems that:
1- MCW60 has a much better pressure drop profile, quiet 2x less pressure drop than D-Tek
2- MCW60 thermal resistance is way better than D-Tek block
So, I can't see how it could perform better than an MCW60 on any kind of loops. A test/review is needed. Unless a good review is out, I'd still go for the universal well proven MCW60 block

Those are 2 different results for the same block on the MCW60.
Sorry this is why i always tell people you cant compare cross platform.

Anyone have anymore results on the D-Tek GFX 2? Not sure if I wanna dump about $110 shipped for my 2x4850s here. I can nail used MCW60s probably for $60ish for 2.

Will these fit a 4850? I did not think they would...
Yeah, there is no standard for c/w value testing. No standard on heat signature like where is the heat coming from or where it's being measured at. No standard on mounting pressure or mounting mechanism, mounting pressure can significantly influence c/w. No standard on thermal compound used or even if it is included in the results.
Bottom line, c/w from one test bed will not equal c/w from another. Pressure drop is relatively comparable, but even that can be influenced by simple things like the barbs used or even if the barbs are included in the PD results or if there is pressure drop from the testing system that's included, etc.
Anyhow, about the only thing of value in a manufacturers c/w curves is seeing what influece flow rate has on thermal performance and it appears the slopes are relatively the same.
Had to find this right after picking up a used Maze5...I wonder how much better this would be than a Maze5 GPU block?
I hate full cover blocks, the differnce between $70 and $120 is huge when buying a $150-$200 video card (your paying $60% of the cards value to improve the cooling? (id rather have a second card for the 40% more)...
Plus with people out there like IandH making beautiful ramsinks it just makes mroe sense to cool the GPU only. These blocks tend to cool the CPU better than a full cover and are re-usable when it comes time to sell your old card. Mem should be ok just on case airflow, just because your cooling with water does not mean you should ditch your case flow fans, noo many other components need to be cooled as well as CPU GPU Mosfets etc...

There are indeed pros and cons between gpu specific and full-coverage blocks. Major pro for full-coverage is simpler install. Major con is indeed that most full-coverage are model specific (except maybe for our late attempt with the Obsidian to provide compatibility across different platforms such as 8800 to 9800 GTX).
From a thermal standpoint, the advantage of a full-cover block becomes only truly apparent when you volt-mod the memory.

Bump... Just ordered the Fuzion GPU v2 and UNI-Sink today for my GTX 260. Too bad D-Tek didn't bother with the backplateI'll report the results and pictures shortly
As for FC vs GPU-only, both have their tradeoffs and both is either good. The case, money and watercooling setup will dictate what to get and in this case, the price, sexyness and availability is what made me buy it instead of a FC. I don't have a airflow problem because there is a 120mm fan just in the path of the GPU so it's ok, with the rest watercooled.

I just got mine today, hooked it up on my 8600gts , looks very stealthy and indeed way lower than my MAZE4 i previously had..
i still have a 2nd 8600gts with stock hsf, itching for any gpu block on that, even a mcw60 now even..well have pics of block/card soon!

Currently trying a test run with my 8800gts g92 and the new fuzion block. It easily shaved 10c off the stock cooler on max speed. Idle temp 26c, 3dmark run hit 30c max. This was all done on a fresh coat of ac5, so temps might drop even more give a week or two.![]()
